Hi all

Looking for anyone with experience of having shocks/suspension serviced by someone local to southampton as I’d like to do the drop off collect without involving couriers.

have seen

Dc cycles

ride ride

and further afield

surrey hills suspension

south coast suspension

thanks for your help

Ride ride are great for my commuter and tandem, but I don’t believe their workshops are setup for fox/rock shox servicing if that is what you are thinking

I reckon DC Cycles is the strongest option in Southampton, alternatively phone Gary at GA Cycles, Shirley who may be able to advise

Do update this thread once you have found a solution as I would be interested

Will do, ride ride came up in the search and sort of mention it on their site but not specifically so I was thinking the same.

don’t know why I’d forgotten GA as I’ve used them lots in the past.

While I'm sure there are some local soton shops that can do suspension service I think your better sending them to someone who only does suspension. TF Tuned can arrange a courier to collect and the shock can go in the fork box. You may well find a number of shops just send them onto the brand official service centre now. If that is the case you'd be better dealing direct with those places and it would probably be quicker.

For anything complex I tend to send away to TF (I'm near Southampton).

TF's collection service is really good. Just follow the packaging rules, which is not difficult.

It's not really any slower than going to a shop.

Another one here for TF Tuned

Their collection service is great and easy, normally get the fork/shock back within 5 days of sending it

Suspension is their main business and they have been around for a long time, when you buy new forks/shock from them the first thing they do is strip them down and check everything is ok from when they left the factory and then set the up for you bike, weight and riding style

Have used FOX UK in the past also, again great service with easy returns

If its just a lower leg service then any good local shop that deals in suspension should be fine but for a proper strip down, rebuild and adjstment id go TF Tuned

Have used tf in the past, I’m just looking at removing the additional cost of the postage and using someone local so I can collect at my convenience rather than waiting on postie.

can happily do lower leg services and air can services but can’t be bothered with getting another load of fluids etc for a rear coil I now own.
