Very lucky! I hope he walked that ponce-cycle down to the nearest shop and swapped it out for a geared hardtail with 180mm rotors.

And we (cyclists) wonder why other road users (cars) give us a hard time.

Am holding off from full tilt rant.........

Prize fool. Hopefully he wasn't hurt and will have learnt not to ride like a prick in future.

Needs narrower bars. And possibly skinnier jeans.

except it looks like it was his pedals that hit the bus/truck.
I like how after the hipsters been compacted and managed to move away another rider goes down the same route (!) and no one else seems to care about any of it.

Hopefully lesson learned, 'Don't piss about around buses, they're a lot bigger than you'

A lesson I learned after almost getting sandwiched between a bus and the central reserve railings while attempting an idiot overtake many moons ago...

he was ok because he was wearing his Mr Invincible suit under his clothes...

But it looks like his wheel wasn't protected by his super powers.

Guy who shot the video is also getting a kicking over on Reddit.....where he uploaded it originally.

rookie mistake - never go thru a closing gap and filter at a safe speed.

What a complete tool.
It sounds a bit 'Daily Mail-esque' but it is riders like that who make it hard to ever win the argument that cyclist are anything else than a 'highway code avoiding' menace on the road.

And that loon who follows him.

And no one actually seemed to bothered about whether the guy was actually OK or not.....if he hadn't gotten up/been able to walk away would someone have just shoved him to the edge of the road so people could carry on their journey with minimal disruption??

rookie mistake

I dunno...he looked like a seasoned road cyclist to me.

I reckon it was more likely a 'getting carried away at how awesome a cyclist I am' mistake. He looked like he was enjoying cycling 'on the edge'.

Guy should've stopped to see if the dude was OK surely? Plus he's a witness?

Spanner riding from the Fixie chap though, really bad lapse of judgement that came sooooo close to costing him his life... be suprised if he doesn't have a few bruises to remind him of it for a while!

I dunno...he looked like a seasoned road cyclist to me.

Yep, looked to be a pretty good city rider to me as well... if I'm honest I ride like that a lot as well (though not on a narrow bar hipster fixie with no brakes, that's practically suicidal!), I wouldn't have tried for that gap (though, with the scooter going through just in front maybe that's what made him think he could make it?).

City riding in traffic can be an adrenaline sport and like most adrenaline sports the thrill comes from 'being on the edge' a little...

It occurred to me that it can't be fun being a pedestrian in East London these days.

Never mind cars, just try to cross the road and you've got bikes flying at you from every direction.

Needs [s]better[/s] some brakes, he's trying to stop before he gets anywhere near the bus!

Chlorine to the gene pool please.

If I'd have been the pick up driver he'd have got a slap if it was scratched, grade A dick.

rookie mistake

I was thinking the same about the thread title;

'of', not 'off', please.

and 25 posts before it's pointed out, standards are slipping 😉

I'm doing my best not to correct the thread which includes "I should of" or something similar in the title...... 😐

People say to me 'that mountain biking you do is dangerous, you could seriously hurt yourself' but I doubt they'd say that so much if I cycled through the town. I've been knocked off my bike before and had other near misses on the road. The consequences for mistakes on the road are far worse than for off road in my opinion.

Looked like he thought he was in a video game! Needs a reality check, traffic hurts if it hits you!
