For those that aren't aware, Surreys Rights of Way improvement plan is currently up for review, having taken first comments the the draft review is now available on the County Council web site via the following link:

http://www.surreycc.gov.uk/environment-housing-and-planning/countryside/explore-surreys-countryside/looking-after-the-countryside/our-work-to-manage-surreys-countryside/footpaths-byways-and-bridleways/rights-of-way-improvement-plan/review-of-the-rights-of-way-improvement-plan

They are seeking further comments - so if there's a bridleway anomaly or improvement that you think would benefit mountainbikers in your local area then please have a look at the plan, and if its not on there, make it known

The closing date for comments on the draft Plan is Friday 9th May. so you've got a Week to have a look at your map and think 'ooh, I wish that was a bridleway, it would link up all these routes'

The email address to send comments in on the link - this is an important opportunity to get things changed, if they don't know what we want then we won't get it!

As an example, one of my comments is:

West End Footpath 23
This footpath links two significant sections of metropolitan common land, and as such is a vital link in the access network for horses, in addition to this area and the common land crossed with footpaths (West End FP 126,126a & 126b) constitutes a significant missing link in the Bridleway network between Bisley BW140/141 and West End BW 150 and would benefit from the creation of Bridleway rights, thereby allowing access for cycles and horses.

You can also have a look at a copy of the current definitive map here and when you zoom in you can click for it to give you the actual rights of way numbers references etc.
