Hiya, on the offchance that anyone on here was in the car park at Felbury House on the side of Hombury hill at 1.15pm today and saw the incident involving a horsebox being driven in a slightly cavalier fashion, please drop me a line via DM.
Thanks in advance.

Well that made me bridle.

Short version - my 7 year old son was almost crushed into the side of our car by a 7.5 ton horse transporter.

I've reported it to the police, and am looking for independent witnesses. There were a few peeps who I didn't get details from.

There are 3 kinds of horse transporters:
1. Knackered, hardly roadworthy and driven by imbeciles.
2. Old but roadworthy and driven by imbeciles.
3. State of the art megabucks. Driven by self-entitled imbeciles.

Personally would be happy to see them and the poor pet horses banned from ownership.

@mikertroid you missed out a 'excessively slowly' as said imbeciles haven't twigged that dobbin will wedge him/herself against the wall/partition for all the corners.

I find that all kind of vehicles can be used by imbeciles, including mountain bikes. Also, horse boxes are normally very well driven but there will be exceptions, as encountered by the OP.
Castigating an entire population of road users is ridiculous.

Good point - isn't it about now that someone usually blames the op for the whole incident?

Doesn't your child have eyes and legs, so was perfectly able to move out of the way as Farquar Smithers-Westcott clearly had urgent need to get Daedelus back to stables before dinner with the Creutzfeldt-Jakobses.

Maybe the horse-box was transporting one of those Caution Horses.

I didn't want to say, but I wouldn't let my 7 year old run feral in a car park where large vehicles were manoeuvring.

There it is. Peak stw.

Blaming the op's parenting based on zero knowledge of the incident.

Plus a load of cobblers about all horse owners being entitled posh people.

OP, hope you get the witness info you need.

My van was parked there (Hurtwood?) at that time but I was riding. How did it happen? Hard to imagine, it's fairly standard car park.

Thanks, supersessions. Two of the adults riding with us witnessed it, but there were other people in the car park.

Ah, bless your heart, otherjonv. He was behaving perfectly and standing still on the other side of the car after putting his bike and kit away until the transporter decided both he and the car looked like a really attractive rubbing post. But don't let that get in the way of your Katie Hopkins-style line of, uh, reasoning.

And thanks, Maurice - will drop you a line. MattOAA - reported to the police. I'll come back if any developments, but the transporter doesn't seem to have been taxed or insured.

Ah you mean KF car Park. Was in there but left around 1230 no horsebox there at that time (if that has any relevance).. Was it the knacjered dark blue one, if so it's in regular..

Is that the same as CP9 in the Hurtwood naming convention, Sui? It's the one with the children's play area next to the old Felbury outward bound centre that's now a retirement home. It wasn't the blue 'box, which I think I'm also familiar with.

@mikertroid I found this so funny I had to read it aloud to my wife in the kitchen

Seriously though to the OP glad no one was hurt
