Im struggling to find a solution to the surly Tugnut ive just fitted.
im using a shimano QR,and the surly has the washer thingy so you can use the tugnut with QR's,
yep tightened up the qr properly, but there's still play, and it seems its the qr rattling in the surly washer,
when tugnut is'nt fitted theres no play in the frame, yet with it fitted there is play.??
hope bulb, nowt wrong with freehub or bearings btw.
any ideas?
Is the inside of the tugnut washers bottoming out on the end of the axle?
If it is file a bit off.
hmmm so you're saying that it could be conflicitng with the end of the axle?
Sounds like it might be.
Put the washer in the other way round or leave it out just to try it.
if washer isnt in,wont it wobble even more due to it then being the qr in the bolt through hole?
not with bike at mo so cant try it out..
*goes into garage to have a look at my spare tugnut.*
What frame is it?
on-one horizontal dropouts.
cheers,
Right them.
Things I'd check/try.
Make sure the washer doesn't stick out of the inside of the tugnut.

Try it without the washer to see if that makes it betterer or worserer.
If the QR's tight it shouldn't move at all.
