Have started looking around for something to replace my Genesis IOID with. It's a smidgy bit too big (20.5) for enjoying singletrack on, but fine for trailer towing duties.
I've also a large Soul and despite only being 6 foot, I'm starting to trouble the minimum insertion length for the seatpost (400mm jobby), must have long legs! I like the look of the Troll as it seems very versatile, SS, Hub gears, Real gears, rigid or suspension. What also appeals is the rack and mudguard mounts, pretty important whilst towing junior along, she doesn't appreciate a face full of mud or dust from back wheel, and I'd like to put a pannier rack on as well.
I know that so far the bike I'm describing is a tourer of some sort, but whatever I buy will also serve as my winter/night ride/put it away without cleaning it bike, so needs to be pretty decent in comparison to the soul.
Just wondering if anyone on here can share any experience of the Troll, or recommend something else to look at?
Would probably run it rigid, but have a spare 100mm fork I could possibly use.
Ta very much.

I have a Karate Monkey, old school version with more mounts than the current one. It's my put-it-away-at-night-without-cleaning-it Chilterns mud singlespeed. It works great with a bigger gear and slicks, as a city commute bike. Not the most refined frame ever, but a really really good bike for riding.
