Hello All
Search feature isn't too great on here, either that or I am too thick to use it effectively.
I have rarely seen a bike that gets so much love from owners on the net and am very close to buying one.
Has anybody tried setting up one of these as a 27.5+? If so, does it 'work'? Would just like to know that the 27.5+ option is doable before I press the buy button.
Thanks.
I would imagine from a clearance perspective you would be fine. NB height less so.
650b+ has a smaller, albeit not by much, diameter than a "std" 29er wheel.
29er+ has a fair bit greater diameter than a "std" 29er wheel .
This would mean with the Krampus the BB would be lower and possibly result in more pedal strikes.
theres a Krampus Facebook group, I've seen some in there
and a million page long Krampus post on MTBR try there
Thanks, I read the whole MTBR thread, it's actually about 10 million pages!
I can't bring myself to join Facepish, but I will try and have a look.
Really hoping to hear from someone on here who has first hand experience.
Another query, also looking at the Singular Swift, I have seen people with 27.5+ on these. Does the eccentric BB on these allow you to set the crank height higher if you go down the non 29 tyre route?
It's awesome as it is. What's with the 27.5" concerns? You have a set of wheels already?
Do it.
Which one.....?
Apologies for the ambiguity. I mean the standard Krampus i.e. 29+ rides perfectly. Not sure what the motivation would be for setting it up as 27.5+ unless you already had a spare set of 27.5+ wheels hanging about, which is unlikely given how new the whole concept is.
Thanks Caspian. No I just fancied having the option of using 27.5+.
Having only had a few goes on a 29er, I found they are great for speed, comfort and mile munching, which will be 80% of my riding. I had this idea of changing to 27.5+ for trail centre visits and if I wanted the bike to feel a bit less gate-like for more 'downhilly jumpy' days.
Ive ridden one that my riding buddy has. He pretty much hates his. It's very heavy - although that could be the build he's done - but it is fairly standard spec. He's looking to get rid of it. I though it was ok to ride although certainly not the most spritely of rides.
