I'm looking to get an expander ring and SS seems to be nicely priced compared to One Up etc. Will probably go for a RadR cage but their ring, which is an expendable part, is a bit much @ 85$.
So is anyone using the SS one yet? If so, how's it working?

Ordered one that was supposed to arrive today, but didn't. Assuming it arrives Monday, and my LBS return my forks they've had for servicing, and the 2inch thick layer of sheet ice covering everything around here magically disappears... meh, it could be a while.

Cheeky bump to see if anyone has any feedback yet?

I can say that mine arrived. Tooth-profile and shifting-ramps, etc look identical to my Hope 40-TRex. Finish is nowhere near as clean on the flat surfaces though, but alright where it counts. Got it fitted on a wheel now, just waiting on my forks to be able to testride.

Keep us posted - just weighing up getting the 40th now or hanging on for the 42.

Surely someone has fitted one of these by now and can give us a little evaluation?

Anyone tried theirs yet? Hovering over the 'buy' button but not sure whether to go for OneUp or Hope or take a punt on the SS one..

Maybe everyone is waiting on someone else to be the guinea pig?! I can't imagine they'll have got it too far wrong - a plate of alu with some relatively simple machining in is not that difficult to replicate/copy.

Or Works Components? Works just as well as the OneUp one.
And available in pimpy colours too...

Away for work just now so still not had a chance to try it. I can say my Hope one is still working well though. Shift from 36 to 40 is seamless (it's the gap in the middle of the block I notice sometimes, but less for each ride). Not a chance I'll get to use the SS until the weekend after next.

My SS one arrived today. Looks nicely made, fits well. Got it fitted and set up and runs nice and smooth on the 'workshop ride' test. Will see how it performs on the trails tonight, all being well.
Gone for the full shabang with oval 32T, RADr and 40t:

1st ride out on the new set-up (above) was very successful. Everything worked very nicely, easy shifting. 40T seems to shift quickly and quietly even when under load as I had a couple of moments when I was in the wrong gear and shifted when out of the saddle.
Can't comment on how it works compared to other expander rings but I'm happy with it.
The oval ring does make climbing easier (or feels like it does) and didn't notice it after about 5 minutes.

Thanks for the feedback, sounds like a relative bargain and worth a try.

Few weeks on mine now and its been perfect. I don't use it that much, only on very steep short sections or when the legs need some active recovery on long climbs. Easy to fit and shifting is perfect with a medium cage deore mech. I didn't need the longer b-screw
