after getting an email about dropper posts, went onto the site to buy, had trouble logging in, then when ordering had other things appear in my inbox, then got a guy called details come up, the order went through and I got the confirmation from superstar and paypal. However I then get a call from a guy called Kevin who says he has access to all my details. I have emailed and tried to phone superstar but to no avail at the moment! Not very happy at the moment! Just to warn you all!

Oddly enough I kept getting logged out or getting other peoples details coming up.
Won't progress any orders there for the moment!
I only wanted some new disc pads as I've none left! BOO!

Can't quite follow the post tbh? Luke Burstow is a STW-er, I think I've done some classifieds stuff with him.

I used them yesterday with no issues.

it is quite likely that at 6pm they have gone home. Might have more luck going through facebook rather than their official email system for out of hours?

I'm Luke B *waves*

I got 3 other people's details at various points in the checkout process plus bits of their orders kept appearing in my basket.

Only thing I can say is

1) SS don't store card details

And

2) I've avoided them ever since the debacle of him posting his own reviews on here and elsewhere. I got lured by a bargain and now wish I hadn't.

I'll see what turns up.

[edit] I'd appreciate any one who's done screen dumps of my details deleting them. Ta.

3/10 - could clearly have used more exclamation marks in the title.

Sounds like something's going wrong in their checkout sessions - so multiple people are being logged into one particular checkout session, adding items, putting their own details etc.

Agree with Hora. Why post and what is your motive? No problems for me on Superstar website.

The real Luke B has learnt his lesson from buying from the dishonest, deceitful, inflammatory, dislikeable little ginger snot rag that runs Superstar and will never, ever order his substandard products again, so it's not that one.

No problem Luke B, only did it to show Superstar what i was explaining in my email. As for Hora, i really dont get what you could mean? looking at my history? what does that have to do with anything? Ulterior motive? If peoples accounts have been compromised I think the responsible thing to do is inform people. how else do i stand to gain? so much for helping.

Don't be a bulb end hora.
OP posted it and a regular user (bigyinn) has corroborated it. I saw some weirdness on their site earlier today too. Shopping cart page wouldn't load properly.

I saw the same thing, together with numerous bits and pieces added to my cart as I went through the process.

In the end however, I paid for a single dropper post at the advertised rate via paypal.

I thought it might have been just me (VERY outdated IT here) but it appears I wasn't the only one.

Im obviously such a fool for informing people that their information IS in the hands of people who it isnt intended. I may not be a cyber geek or a troll, but i do understand that this isnt right. I thought, (foolishly it would seem) that as a pretty well read forum with alot of people who probably have ordered off superstar that this would be a logical place to post. Clearly not. I dont quite understand why you would have an issue with what I have written as it is the truth. Maybe you should just get out on your bicycle abit more...

Not quite sure why the OP is being given a hard time. I'd probably rather he hadn't named me just for google purposes but other than that seeing lots of other people's names and addresses when making an online order is a bit worrying.

Incidently, I get the impression that had I continued with the transaction, although the address on the site had been (Edit: the name mentioned above) that the paypal address would have been the one the good were sent to. The main issue would have been about ensuring that what I paid for was what I had ordered. I now have an e-mail confirming what I ordered and the cost.

I didn't blindly click on the requistite buttons though, I checked everything quite dilligently.

^^This.

I wasn't on STW around the time of the so called "debacle" (although in my interpretation and understanding of the facts it was far from), but I can say hand on heart I've ridden with Neil and he's a good bloke with his head well screwed on. Sell as much volume as SS do, some will by definition go wrong. Some "warranty" claims are blatantly not, but in our "stupid consumers should have rights" culture, the bias is always against the business....

Anyways, back on topic. Payments are done through the Paypal payment portal, so SS never, ever have access to card or Paypal logins.

The worst anyone *may* know is what another rider has added to their shopping cart, if indeed this is the case.

As has also sensibly been posted, it is now out of business hours, so totally unreasonable to expect a response.

Wait patiently for a response to your email enquiry from 9am tomorrow.

In the meantime, stop trying to create a fuss out of nothing.

Given that someone had the mods change one of my thread titles last week as it contained a word that offended a person, I think it's high time the mods change the title to something less dramatic, which is clearly out to harm a brand.

Perspective, guys........

Try presenting the facts, and only the facts, in a rational and well thought out, non-dramatic manner then.

Inappropriate thread title for starters, naming a member for seconds, lack of understanding of standard UK business working hours as a third.

Just saying....... 😉

Not for a moment.

But as per my comments, the way this has been presented and the actions of the OP make me think it is a classic case of blowing something out of proportion.

Going on some crazy internet rant out of office hours is doing nothing to fix the situation.

And the thread title is grossly misleading and disproportionate to the alleged (and at this stage it is **alleged**, unequivocal proof has not been presented) issue, hence my thoughts that the mods should do something along the lines of changing the title to:

"Potential Superstar shopping cart issue"

- Simple, unemotional, factually correct.

Bloody hell, I didnt know there was a degree in forum thread titles.
my rough idea of a title is to inform and attract attention at the same time.

if your not concerned by details being shared to the wrong person on a website - why the concern for JUST a name on a forum?

for your info I ordered at approx 4:30, clearly in uk working hours, tried phoning and emailing to no avail.

im not out to deface superstar, ive used the products and had no issues, hence buying more!!! merely their online system is failing..

so perhaps im not so irational after all...just saying...

the facts are quite clear, proof has been presented to superstar...

And issues like this while not the end of the world in themselves, don't exactly inspire confidence in their IT systems.

There was a post on their FB recently that they are having a new website built and migrated at the moment, but the developers have been a bit problematic. From my understanding of these kind of things through my own work, it could well explain it.

Yeahhh, that won't happen with superstar!

I've always got replies in a timely manner when I have emailed. But then I make a point of always sending polite, to the point emails.

If you emailed just after the order, it is likely to be in a queue of others that arrived around the same time. Hence why Trading Standards allow a business up to 5 working days to respond to an email. There's not necessarily some little geezer sitting watching emails pop up and replying instantly. And even less likely in an SME in a manufacturing and distribution model.

Mactheknife you obviously missed the full on/overkill weirdness. It was almost forum darkside/stalking for a very longtime. Superstar was promoting a start up and at times didnt help himself. However there was some weird behaviour towards him. Walk the other way?

Why? If your not being melodramatic are you some sort of angry type? Lashout and be upset at life? 😉

Calm down. Anyway Im out. If there is any fraud it'd be refunded. Stop the hatred. Idiots. Its tiring.

There are some sad elements on stw. Yep when two waves of card hackings of wiggle happed (a REAL problem, I defended wiggle. Some elements here were idiots then too).

Not involved in any way. I do however work in online sales and marketing so see a million and one emails a day from customers (generally filled with bad spelling, capitalisation and punctuation - never good if you are trying to make an impression) where they get all "emotional" for want of a better word. So yes, it could be argued I'm massively desensitised in favour of a business, and felt as an outside observer, that this seemed a disproportionate response with the intention of slandering SS's brand name.

The OP has since further qualified his comments by saying he likes SS parts and has no intention of trying to damage their brand, so I will grant that maybe, just maybe, my comment there was slightly strongly worded.

If you work in online sales then no doubt you'll also know how important it is to customers that their details are kept private- how do we know that if addresses and names are being passed around that in once case card details may end up in the wrong hands and boom, someone loses a lot of money.

Hora - no i am not angry at all. 🙂 honestly.

I guess i missed all the previous weirdness but i see a lot of it on here at times. Cyber stalking / bullying. All of it is on here to a degree. Just that a lot of people feel extremely safe behind a keyboard when it comes to dishing it out.

Card details are totally seperate via Paypal window. I have weekly conference calls with Paypal for my own work where we go through security updates, changes, improvements etc, and believe me, those details simply are not in the hands of an online retailer.

And I'm not in any way discounting that yes, it is important that data is looked after, but sometimes, something will go wrong. That's just the nature of things. Because the payment is outsourced, in this case risk of losses are minimal if at all.

Yeah as it happens. On the older i7/i900 types, it's worth making a boot out of an old innertube as the seal isn't amazing. I did that on mine a year ago and it's worked perfectly.

I've had an i900R for ages, it's been great- but it didn't work out of the box, and had to go back on warranty twice before Superstar- sorry, "the distributor"- got it going, with a short burst of blaming me for it all, and a garnish of not refunding my postage.

But honestly, totally worth it, it's been fantastic ever since, used through scottish winters etc, no fuss.

So when in 'attak-action' it'll look like a Whales baggy-foreskin? 😆

I was thinking the shaft inside the cut tube with zips at each end? (Top zip above redlever threaded througha small hole in side of innertube? Although any mud/grit inside would be 'hidden'?

Might do... though anything going on around where my arse is doesn't need to worry about looks.

I was thinking the shaft inside the cut tube with zips at each end? (Top zip above redlever threaded througha small hole in side of innertube? Although any mud/grit inside would be 'hidden'?

Yeah knew a few who had theirs covered but there was a need to remove it and keep it clean as it was possible to trap stuff. This just removes the issue, easy clean never needs removing.

Also worth noting that there was a batch/year of posts that were crap but were all fixed under warranty. I'd be asking what the arrangement was and wanting it in writing before buying.

Bizarre post op.

Don't google "bizarre post-op" unless you have an open mind.

Mine's zip tied at the top. Made a little nick in the front and weekly, squirt some Rocol spray grease in. Every couple of months, I clean and replace the bit of inner tube. Definitely the best option with the gritty, sticky mud we get down here in the SW.
