Are either of these good at retaining the chain on the lower wheel and is bearing life good?
I haven't had the superstar long enough to comment on bearing wear but they seem to doing their job like they should do unlike the stock SRAM ones. I'm glad I bought them.
Uber Eagle.
Sram should pick that name up on a future group set.😁
🤣
Or NX Eagle jockey wheels? They use bushings instead of bearings and cost about £15.
Save the money and fit a Shimano xt/xtr derailleur, Jockey wheels last longer and the clutch works properly.
I've run the uberbike ones and they fall appart SUUUUUUUPER quick - AVOID.
so far https://www.jrc-components.com/collections/drive-train/products/sram-eagle-ceramic-pulleys these have held up very well.
My superstar ones are still going well (touch wood). Spent some time tweaking my gears and it's shifting so much better than with the sram ones.
If you've got access to a socket set and a vice, press out the old ones, stick in some new (with loctite) for about 6 or 7 quid. 15 minute job.
626 2RS is the bearing size.
I bought Superstar and only two rides in but they feel much more solid. The Sram ones always had some play which got worse over time. I'd imagine bearings in a plastic housing aren't going to be as rigid as alloy wheels. Mud clearance should be better too. We shall see...
cant you replace the bearings on the original ones?
After taking a tooth of an original SRAM jockey I thought I would give the Superstar ones a go, no problems to report so far after a couple of hundred miles, shifting seems the same.
I didn't bother with UBER jockeys as the last ceramic bearing jockeys I tried seized up after very little use.
cant you replace the bearings on the original ones?
Yup, that's what I did. The replacement bearings have been in for 2 years and I pick off the covers and clean/regrease them annually.
Tap out and in with a couple of appropriately sized sockets? (11sp speed in my case)

Yup and use some washers and a nut and bolt to press the new bearings in.
cant you replace the bearings on the original ones?
Yes, but I found you still get side-to-side play from the bearings not being a great fit in the plastic wheel - or over time, the space for the bearing wears larger.
Are they designed to have play like old Shimano top jockey wheels?
Are they designed to have play like old Shimano top jockey wheels?
No, although as the bearing wears you can get some side to side movement. I have a small amount of movement, but I haven't found it affects the shifting.
Superstar ones are on offer, 30% off. Code jockey2020
Saw that one as well, £17.49 for no faff makes sense to me
Arrived today, seem nice, far nicer than SRAMs and I can verifying them bearings have seals. That’s all I’ve got for now though
I need to apologise about stock levels on these over the last few months. Just couldn’t get weeks of machine time allocated to making enough due to hub parts eating it all. We have assembled thousands now and have decent stock for the moment.
That said I just checked and 11T are selling out and eagles aren’t far behind. Better order some more metal. #madeinlincoln
Neil SuperstarComponents
Any idea when you will have more stock available of the purple 11t Neil?
Making bearing tools and work holding currently, so next run will be in March. 11T will go on after we have restocked Eagle as that’s the biggest seller.

What bearings do you fit Neil? After four weeks of riding they're not spinning freely.
Answered my own question. Popped the bearing covers off and as suspected, they come with cheap bearings. Have ordered some S688-2RS. Annoys me why great effort goes into making a decent bit of kit but corners are cut with sub-standard bearings, when the manufacturer knows full well most of these components will be put to test in UK weather.
I just bought some superstar eagle jockey wheels so I thought I'd report here.
Very nice quality of construction, and the metal end caps are a much more secure fit than the sram ones so it should help reduce dirt ingress.
However, when taking the caps off, there was literally no grease under them at all, and when i popped the bearing seals only the bare minimum was present in there. I repacked everything with marine grease to hopefully keep things spinning longer.
There's also no play in the bearings unlike the sram ones and that seems to make shifting a bit more crisp on the stand. I'm not sure if this will make the mech a little less accommodating to small knocks/alignments issues in the future.
I've got a shattered tib/fib at the moment so I won't be riding until the summer to test it out properly though!
Fresh set of sram jockey wheels have minimal play in, they get sloppy pretty quick, so the shifting gets quite poor.
Have superstar on both my 11 speed setups and did run them on my eagle mech for a couple of months and found the shifting stayed consistent.
