Help. I’m trying to build up a little pump track bike and need 26” wheels built around 15 x 100 and 10 x 135 bolt through hubs. I’m not paying for custom builds so a second hand set of superstars which I can convert looks like the way forward.

However, to work out what converters I need to buy, I need to work out the equivalent Novatech hubs are.

Switch F/R = D881 / D882?
Switch Ultra F/R = D771 / D772?

Or are they the same Novatec hub (881/2?) just with different free hubs? I’m getting conflicting advice from various potential sellers so just need the unbiased truth before I lose my mind!

TIA

Right, I have some old Switch hubs and got some new Switch Ultras a couple of years ago. As far as I can tell the front hubs are completely different- an Ultra front is much smaller and can't be converted to 20mm like the old Switch can but the rears are the same (882).

We have a couple of pairs of 26" Superstar wheels on Ultra hubs spare here if you want some ready to go with adapters (100x15mm front, 135x10 rear)?

I have a rear Switch Ultra, front Switch Ultra lite in front of me.

Switch Ultra rear is an 882, Switch Ultra lite front is a 771.

Have a pair of Switch Ultras elsewhere - front is an 881. Mine are all about 5 years old.

This is all going by comparing measurements with http://nguide.eu/hubs/

I've found Wiggle to be a good source of axle converters etc btw. Their RD010 and 020 hubs are Novatecs (can't remember exactly which off hand unfortunately), axles are £7.50 and front end caps similar or a bit less.

Kayla & Branes - thank you for your help and please forgive my slow reply! In line with your comments, I think I have worked out what’s what. Switch Ultra are 881/882 and a switch Ultra Lite 771/772. The former can be run as 20mm up front but the Lite’s only have an interior diameter of 15mm as opposed to 20mm.

As it happens I’ve managed to pick up a set of Ultra wheels with 135 x 10 rear already fitted, plus some end caps to covert the 20mm to 15mm. All up for £100 including postage but, Kayla, thank you for the offer!
