I emailed about out of stock items (brake pads) asked when they would be back in stock. I got this reply:
I am sorry to say we do not have these as spares listed on line yet. If you
require them you can order them using magic coins.Kevlar £7 per pack
Sintered £6 per pack .When using the magic coins function follow the link below to access the item
in the web shop.http://www.superstarcomponents.com/index.php/en/magic-coins.htm
On the item page in the quantity box enter the number of coins you require
to pay (ie 20 coins = £20.00 GBP) then click “add to cart”. Proceed through
the checkout as normal.Once you have an order number for you purchase please contact us again via
email with this number and we will update the order for the items or service
you require.
Magic coins whats all that about then? why not just take normal £?
😐
Spare pads for the finned brake pads? I got the same thing when I inquired about them..
I'll see if i can get some with a swapsie for my Unicorn........
Because they need a virtual 'thing' for which to take your money off you. It's a simple way for them to get things on order without it being listed on the site (in your case it will be listed, it's just not there yett)
I've used it in the past, worked fine.
I would imagine magic coins are easier to track through their system and are transferable if the item gets delayed and you / they cancel it.

100% your cash in their bank account and I wonder what the refund on magic coins/gift vouchers is? Worth asking/checking or just ordering when in stock

Why not take a normal payment if they have it or list on their site?
Why not take a normal payment
As above its a sales trick/idea/plan once they have your cash if the item comes up elsewhere will you get a refund on the coins or keep them/spend them with them? Miss a sale get the next one
well its a no sale from me for asking for magic coins.
It's just a convenience for them if the item you want isn't on their site yet. They did the same for us when they let us buy VAT free (I'm French vat-registered) so the usual prices weren't correct. No hassles and it's not any kind of scam / cunning plan.
