SuperSix (old style) equivalent frames?

I have found over the years that I have only really got on with one road frame: the SuperSix (old style, rim braked) but they are harder and harder to come by, and I want one for my winter bike (I have a disc CAAD12 and I am not enamoured with it, but that could just be because it's discs and the frame isn't quite the same as a rim one) - can anyone recommend another frame by any other manufacturer that would have as similar geometry please? I was also wondering whether to try a rim braked CAAD "n" - I was led to believe that the CAAD12 (for example) was pretty much an alu SuperSix, but my princess and the pea disc experience suggests otherwise.

Any suggestions?? TIA! As always...

From what I’ve read on here and other forums the newer CAAD and Supersixes have become more relaxed.
I’m the same as you, I used to have a Supersix Evo HiMod Black Edition, still lust after them. I’m constantly on eBay looking at options.
I guess you’re only looking at new? Geometry Geeks website gives some indication of the differences between old and new Supersix. I have a Trek Emonda SLR in H1.5 fit, after some minor changes this feels pretty close to me. On the Emonda the stack is 3mm lower and a 2mm longer reach. Same effective top tube. But it’s probably the closest I’ve had that replicates the Supersix position. 5mm difference in wheelbase, this is pretty good as most modern bikes are somewhat longer. The current Supersix is 22mm longer than the 2016 Supersix. (I was comparing a 2016 Supersix geometry against a 2021 Emonda SLR)

There is a 2013 model frame in size 58 for sale on one of the fb groups I’m on.

Is the caad10 rim brake more like the older Supersix? It always had good reviews etc.

CAAD10 is definitely much closer to the old Supersix Evo - great alternative if you can find one

Isn't Canyon still doing a racey rim braked frame? Not sure of the geometry but I'm sure I read they're still doing them.

Interesting thanks - hadn't checked back since the weekend - maybe I'll keep a look out for a rim braked CAAD 10 then - it's a 54 I'm after, thanks for the tip on the 58, but doubt I'd even get a leg over that!!

I have a 2013 era SuperSix which I really enjoyed riding, and the geometry suits me.  When I was looking for a replacement, I carefully checked the geo charts of many manufacturers to get something as close as possible to the 'dale and ended up with a Giant TCR (2020 model) FWIW

Interesting thanks @vlad_the_invader is that a rim braked TCR? I just assume that anything these days is disc braked and I really don't want that...

Not very helpful to you but l love  my 2016 Supersix Evo Ultegra .

My other bike is a Giant Defy and that feels so pedestrian in character next to the Supersix.

if I’m going out for a short blast the Supersix is my go to.

Sorry, I'm not au fair with the Supersix geometry but is anything in the Basso range worth a look? They seem to specialise in reasonably racey angles with a selection of different headtube lengths, I'm getting a Venta which has reasonably short wheelbase, 73/73 angles (think headtube is 73.5...) but a massive headtube for the stiff of back.

Think the Astra is a bit lower and the Diamante is the raciest, although they're phasing out the rim brake Diamante 😭

Eagerly awaiting my new Venta 😎

I used to race on a CAAD10 then a Supersix rim brake for several years. Moved on to a Giant TCR disc brake and had no issues with getting the position right. Have a look on the geometry geeks site and compare the Giant TCR I’m sure the position is similar even though the frame looks very different.

Not sure why you would want rim brakes on a winter bike unless you have a load of rim brake wheels to utilise.

Yes, it is the disc brake version...moving to discs was the primary driver for me so I didn't even look at a rim braked bike

I had a 2011 Super Six Ultegra and it was one of the comfiest road bikes I've owned. Only got rid of it as I wanted to run wider tyes but I couldn't.

Oh and the constant creaking BB was ****ing annoying.

@Kuco (and others) yep, I do have a SuperSix 2016 (or something like that) and it is the best. I just want another for winter duties!

And as for the creaking BB - just get a WheelsManufacturing screw together BB, and creak be gone! 😉
