You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
I bought my lad a Whyte 403 for Christmas and he's only used it a handful of times. He used it last week for the first time in over a month. During that time it's been sat in the garage. There were no issues the last time it was used.
I noticed the Suntour XCR forks had lost all their pressure. So I pumped them up and placed the bike on the carrier and drove 45 minutes to the trail. By the time we got there the forks had lost all pressure again. I refilled them. By the time I'd got the other 4 bikes ready, they'd lost pressure, again.
The shop has said I can drop the bike off for a service, as they'd need to look at them to see if it's covered under warranty. The thing is, I don't want to pay for a service and be told it isn't a warranty issue, especially if there are a few things I can check for myself first.
I'm hoping for a few suggestions from you guys. 🙂
Thanks.
It's mentions inflating to 10 bar, just for testing, but doesn't say what the test procedure is? Would it simply be to listen for leaks? Then reduce the pressure to normal?
Pump them up and leave them for a bit after you've added a bit of oil to check then just ride them as normal. I did a set of Durolux and just rode them after adding the oil and they were fine.
Check the valve core is tight in the topcap.
