Anyone own or used one of Suntour's Durolux enduro forks. 160mm travel and can be had cheap. But can't find any owner reviews online or any indication of how they hold up long term.
Or would it be better to just get a used pair of 36's or Lyriks?
Thanks 🙂
I had one on a bike I used for Megavalanche. Think the one I had was set at 180mm.
It was fine but I had to get a new set of lowers put on at the Suntour stand in the event village though, cos the bushings felt like they'd gone and apparently, you can't replace the bushings on their own - its new lowers only. Think I only paid something daft like 30Euros though including the rebuild.
My mate got a new one from the same Suntour stand for 200Euros.
Probably not as good as a Lyrik but that's reflected in the price. I'd have another.
My pal has been using something for the last 3 months and they are sh*te
They plummet through their travel, don't recover and have huge amounts of atiction
I'd go for a 2nd hand set of Fox or Rockshox, send them for a full OH and you'll have a much better set of forks
Alternatively, why not look at the likes of Wiggle or Chain Reaction and find some 2 or 3 year old, but new, forks in the sale - they'll be a lot better than the Suntour forks
What about some X-Fusion Vengeance or Slant?
Well that's my suspicions confirmed with the suntours.
I would loves some x fusions but my frame isn't tapered so has to have a 1 1/8th steerer.
They are proving harder to find with a straight steerer than i thought.
Straight Vengeance

Its the Slants that only come in tapered. I was thinking about getting Slants to replace my Lyriks but they also only come in 15mm axle.
Awesome. Thanks for that!
Had no idea they existed!
There is a fairly decent review here on Bikeradar
I didn't think they dived at all, depends how they were set up.
X-Fusion is a good call.
I have used a 2013 Durolux 120-160mm since May and it´s absolute just fine. It´s stiff, and absolutely worth every penny
