[Closed] Sunrace 11 - 50 cassette with medium rear mech

It should work, medium cage has 39 tooth capacity.

Haven't used one personally, experiences on here have been mixed though.

Hardtail or full sus? The chain growth on some full sus is equivalent to a noticeable amount of mech capacity.

Its a full sus. Im currently on an 11 -46 which works fine but not sure if the 50 is a bit too extreme.

Sorry to butt in. Currently run a 11-40 with a mid cage non clutch SLX mech on a Switchback - works a treat. Want to try a 11-46. Is the general consensus this will work with the same mech?

Yeah mine works fine ive used it with Medium XT and SLX with no problems.

I run a Gaberuk 11-50 (315g!) and they supply a longer cage - not had any problems with it and I agree with their reasoning for recommending them.

Is the Garbaruk any good? I quite fancy one, but have been unsure of dropping that much cash without hearing any real world reviews/experiences.

My 11-50 Sunrace wouldn't run with a long cage mech. I ended up trying 3 or 4 mechs in the end and settled with the mid cage (might be the only size available, cant remember) XT.

Ah thanks. I've just checked your previous thread. I'll try the 11-50 tomorrow with my mid cage mech to see if it works.

Would be interested to know what full suspension  bike you are running this on and the outcome please.

This was pretty straight forward tbh. It was a pretty much straight swap for the 11-46 with a slight adjust to the cable tension and it's running sweet on a mid XT mech. I thought I'd need SGS or some goat link to make it work but testing it, seems to work fine.

Bikes an Evil following MB with 120 rear travel. There seems to be plenty of slack for chain growth but not actually ridden it yet as I'm still waitng on parts to finish the build.
