XT mid cage? or does it need a long cage mech?

i'm hoping a mid-cage will work. my frame design seems suitable as i'm currently using a ZEE fr on a 11-42 with no problems other than everything has worn out.

If I recall if you are buying a sunrace 11-42 plus, they provide a longer b screw for you to adjust the mech? Might be worth just giving this a go for starters if correct.

XT M8000 will be spot on. Works fine in an 11-42 Sunrace, whereas a Zee was having none of it.

I’ve currently got a zee working on an 11-42. It’s worn out and needs replacing.

I want to go to the 11-46 so I can run a larger front chainring.

New m8000 mid definitely works.

Older 10 speed mech might be a bit hit and miss with the 46. Probably ok with a rad cage installed but if buying new would be better and likely cheaper I imagine getting new m8000.

And 11 shimano works fine on 10 speed.

I had considered just going 11spd for only the extra cost of a shifter.
