As title I have just been on a lazy 15 miie ride around my local trails, nothing rad, no gnar anywhere just a nice sunny afternoon pootle.
Sat in the beer garden with a pint surrounded by people chilling enjoying the evening sunshine.
Happy days.
I did this last evening. 15 miles along the local disused railway line and through Delamere Forest. Fish and chips at the pub and home after another 15 by 8pm. Bob on.
@tthew - where is the disused railway line near Delamere? I ride to and around the forest quite a lot, and the railway line sounds interesting.
isn't it great. sunny evening pootles, that is.
This is why I love Wyre Forest. Perfect evening gnarpootles and some cracking hoppy ales.
Chips by the river.

Whitegate way. If you follow the Oakmere way, which starts at the entrance to the new Marley houses and golf club opposite the station, it's a couple of miles traffic free to one end of the Whitegate way. That goes all the way to Winsford. Before you get to that there are links onto the River Weaver, and from there you can get to various other quiet areas round Northwich, Winsford, Vale Royal golf club, through Northwich to Anderton, Marbury or onto the Trent and Mersey canal. if you know how to string it all together, there's miles of non-technical off-road riding with very small amounts of road links. Lovely.
I intended to do this on Saturday morning, but somehow got all caught up in the speed and ended up doing my 100+k of gravel/road in 3.35. Was still good fun - just a little frenetic.
Hoping to do this tomorrow evening - bimble along some MOD land, view the viewpoint, then back to the pub... winner
We do this on road bikes most Wednesday evenings, extending the season with lights. We always finish at a pub about 2 miles from the end and there's no better way to end a day.
Nothing better than catching the sunset on an evening ride at this time of year.

Thanks @tthew - i had heard of that route from a couple of chaps I met on the Old Pale hill a couple of weeks back. I was hoping you'd discovered an old disused railway track from Chester to Delamere, which'd be pretty handy.
Yep it's much more worthwhile going out for a potter when it's nice and dry and you dont have to sort out muddy kit.
Not an evening ride but managed to sneak in a couple of hours this afternoon. It was a fabulous ride, was really enjoying it, right up to the point where my chain snapped at the furthest point from home! Honestly I can count on the fingers of one hand the number of times I’ve gone out without tools and spares and today was one of them!

Gentle cycle with the other half last night, 25km with a stop for chips and ice cream halfway round.
Did a little of this yesterday. Was a special ride. Only had a handful in the last 12 months, so when a good ride is there - I appreciate it.
