Looking at the forecast it looks like it will get a covering of snow.

I assume it will still go ahead, but having never been there, can you tell me if there is likely to be problems when entering the venue? More concerned about the likelihood of getting stuck down small country lanes, assuming there will be any.

Doubt very much if there will be enough snow to cause trouble.

With regard to the snow forecast for Saturday evening and night, we will be keeping a very close eye on the course conditions. Please look at either www.twitter.com/@Gorrick or the Twitter feed at the bottom of the Home Page at www.gorrick.com BEFORE you set off on Sunday morning for our latest update.

They've pulled a race before at the same venue due to a future snow/ice forecast - reason being that the car park/access would be dangerous not the MTB course. Soooooooo, as above dial in to the twitter feed/website.

??? We will be considering all aspects of riders' safety, especially the course conditions - as stated above.

Not a dig 🙂 I was trying to get across that it's not **just** the course which has to be considered when making the call on running the event.

As you will all know by now, the weather got the better of us and we have had to cancel Round 1 of the Spring Series. We’re really sorry for any disappointment, but everyone’s safety always comes first. The team are now dismantling the unused course. We will be transferring all Round 1 pre-entries to Round 2 on 26th February. If you can’t make that Round please email us and we will sort something out for you. If you entered the Series we will be emailing you.
Enjoy the snow and we’ll see you in 3 weeks.

This was to me Son1 and my first race. We'll try for Round 2.

If conditions were anything like Swinley, you were right to cancel it. the ground was rock hard, the ruts made steering difficult. front washouts were common. And my hip hurts! Son1 of course is to young to care about being cautious, and pulled some impressive jumps in the Gully.
