Yesterday was a wash out. Today we have been out clearing the local trails and cutting in few alternative lines. Got to build up a bit that has collapsed over an edge but need to do it sympathetically so it may need to be done once every thing has dried out

Yesterday was a complete washout here too, but today was sunny, bright, cold and dry. Well, from the top down, anyway... Bottom up, not so much.

Got out for 2hrs on my usual local loop.

Definitely hardtail season. Still sun was out, had a good slither about, didn't crash. I'll take that!

NBD yesterday… 45min local loop. thought I’d hit the snow but it had definitely turned to mush.

Fun though!

No riding today but we did have an amazing swim in some proper crisp sunshine:

I like it. But I am biased. I never really think about pics when I'm out.

No going anywhere this weekend for me due to COVID isolation.

However, new frame turned up this week so it was the perfect excuse to use the time getting it built up.

bike

Invisiframed it and did most of the build yesterday, finished off remaining jobs this morning.

Don't tell anyone but I rode it up and down the bumpy cobbled road behind our house for 5 mins and it feels lovely. Super plush, rock solid stiff, pops off little bumps very well and not overly heavy (although not exactly light either!)

Special mention to windwave and transition who sorted the new frame out for me cheap. Crash replacement after snapping my old frame, even though I was the second owner and it had been ridden hard!

Sunday Avo And No Weekend Picture Thread Yet?

I tried...

https://singletrackmag.com/forum/topic/the-vaguely-weekend-based-riding-pics-thread/

But since everything is in this one now...

Friday was the usual after work spin - "The local woods are still weirdly dry (did suffer a whole minute or so of hail tonight though)."

https://flic.kr/p/2mVYgvP

https://flic.kr/p/2mVYgrq

https://flic.kr/p/2mVZvbP

And then this morning I headed out into the alternative local woods to slide my way around on summer tyres.

I chickened out of bike packing in Wales due to the rain and did a couple of road rides instead.

When sliding through the slush on a very minor back road I was pretty sure I'd made the wrong choice

The next day was much nicer

Bit grim in the local hills, although not as grim as being a Covenanter back in 1685...
