Probably a thick question but this 142x12 is all a bit new to me. So I have a rear Dirty Flea hub and emailed Sun/Ringle tech support who told me I need new end caps to run 142x12. End caps turned up so I remove the old ones, only the drive side would come off. However I noticed that the axle currently in place is too small to fit the 142 qr thingy through, told you I was new to this. So do I need to remove the current axle and in fact the qr thingy is then the axle ?. Sorry if its a thick question.
One end needs a 5mm Allen key to unscrew it from the axle. From memory the axle itself will probably be OK for a 10mm bolt through jobbie.
Whats confusing me is one end cap has a thread which screws onto the existing axle ok. As you said its undone with an allen key. I think your right the axle looks like its big enough for 10mm but not 12. Hmm not sure what I need to do. Will email tech support on monday if no one has any other ideas.
Bump this one - have the same query but the other way round. Just sold a wheel with a dirty flea hub 142x12. The buyer missed this part and is asking whether it can be converted to 135 QR. pacerc100 - did you manage to swap around the end caps successfully?
