We travelled 7 1/2 hours up North to pick something up in the morning. Been out walking since we arrived. Will get some riding in tomorrow. Great day to be out and about. Back at the van with a gin and tonic and the bed

Skipped up Dumyat with Dana the horse and friends to help Equi-Power Central Scotland RDA crowd fund to build a new centre for RDA and disability services in Stirling.
A friend has already climbed the height of Everest, completed 36 climbs and raised over £600 towards the new centre but was resting her blistered feet today.

Well I've just had a top day out. Big ride over the peak. Thanks to everyone who posted up on the thread I started in the week who helped me to plan the route.

Train to Sheffield,
Up through Endcliffe park and along the valley up to porter clough and Redmires
Stanage plantation then stanage edge
Derwent Edge and a great new descent (to me) down off lost lad to Derwent Resr.

Up over cut gate and down to Penistone.

I'd aimed to get the train from Penistone but I would have had to wait around quite a while. Decided to carry on the ride down the transpennine trail to Barnsley instead. coming into Barnsley down the A road was a bit grim mind!

about 75Km and 1500m climbing. Not a cloud in the sky and everyone I met was in a really good mood.

Props out to the lass who was pushing the fully loaded touring bike up from Langsett over cut gate!

Massive chippy tea earlier and I'm pretty much ready for bed!

First ride on the Mullet Monster Truck tonight. 27.5+ rear and 29+ front. Difficult to properly judge on the tame local trails but I think I like it...

Leeds over to Ilkley Moor & back. Met a mate for a couple of dad-duro runs, had lunch, got chased down off Burley Moor by the bellend gamekeeper on his quad bike. Splendid day out.

I stopped at Swinley yesterday in the way to Reading for a night of “Bikes & Banter” with my childhood hero James Whitham & John McGuinnes. Good night, Swinleys still shit though.

Starting slow. Cheapened up my Rune and tested it after a few months off the bike on the local loop.

First big'ish ride in ages long loop nice potter in the sun until ran out of energy (not enough snacks), fortunately was close to a cafe that does a buffet breakfast where I thoroughly embarrassed myself.

We travelled up to the Nevis Range carpark to collect a new to me bike. Rode all day in glorious weather. Trails were dry. What more could a girl want.

Out on the roadie this weekend, decided to head out west and see what it’s like around the Ashridge estate. Turns out, pretty scenic! Definitely want to explore it on the gravel bike once it gets a bit less soggy.

Had a brilliant day out riding round Puddletown Forest in the warm sunshine. A bit windy at times but mostly dry and dusty trails (with the odd muddy puddle to add to the fun!). So good to get out and just have fun with warm sunshine and lots of laughter from doing silly things. I may have gone through a rhododendron bush or two in my exuberance to have fun.

Paddle on the Avon from Evesham.

4 and a bit miles upstream against a strong flow after some epic rain last week and a headwind was hard going!

Back downstream was rapid though!

A day in the Yat with a raging hangover 🙂

https://flic.kr/p/2n9utwE

Trails are drying, but still very slick in places. After five hours in the sunshine, I was ready for another beer! Mate brought his 'rarely gets in the way' mutt. Pretty fast downhill but does take a lot of Strava lines 🙂

Unfortunately my post "isn't jumpy, it's just grumpy!" Photo of the fly tipping we saw near Bockhampton on the way home from a 30 mile loop around the South Dorset Ridgeway and Puddletown Forest. Looks like some b*stard has cleared out a fast food shop and thought a passing place on this quiet country lane would be the ideal place to leave it!! 🙁

Spotted a deer track heading in an interesting direction. 90 minutes later actually resumed my ride but with a new little trail section mapped out ready for a spade day in the Easter Break. Ride was therefore way shorter than planned but still felt like time well spent.

If that's the uplift vehicle, I imagine it's quicker to ride up!

It’s an old Land Rover, so not much in it!
The uplift takes about 8 minutes, I normally pedal it in 11-14 minutes.

The new version of Devils Dyke is bedding in nicely.

A 20km bimble from the doorstep, sunny but very windy. Some exploring here and there but best of all was finding that one long section was far, far better done in the reverse direction to that previously taken!

One of those 'Right to Roam' rides yesterday - 1:25k had none of the useful dotted lines but the Satellite View showed feint marks that turned out to be sheep tracks and a quad tyres so the loop was completed.

Ridden last 7 out of 8 days. Fantastic conditions, enjoying them while they last. Coaching today with Katy Curd in the FoD. 3rd time in the last two years. She's a great teacher and we had prime conditions.

https://flic.kr/p/2napnJC

Average technique. World class gurning 🙂

Maybe this time I'll remember to actually practice, rather than just default to my old (and frankly a bit rubbish technique). For those of us of a certain age, it's not learning the best way to ride modern geo, it's unlearning the exact opposite approach we took riding steep, short bikes in the 90s!

A superb ride in the sunshine today - did the STW classic ride 137, a variation on my usual riding - absolute indulgent perfection of a ride!

I didn’t half pick a cracking week to be off work!

Totally rubbish pics, but I don't care as it signalled my first ride in the past couple of years - 18 miles, nothing techy and yes, it was an e-bike, but that was needed for the time constraints
