Any recommendations for short-sleeved jerseys in pale colours for not very good, tubby riders?
Less than £40 would be ideal

It's for leisurely rides/overnight touring rides. Not proper racing or training

I don't have a beer belly but the sports section of TK Maxx is where all my riding gear is from. I've got loads of light, stretchy t-shirts in muted colours.

Proper bike kit is usually gopping and overpriced. I don't want to dress like a crime fighting vigilante to ride a bike.

Fat Lad at the Back are the obvious choice. Realistic sizing. Think there might be a beer themed jersey this year.

Might have something on sale in your budget - made in Italy from proper performance fabrics, so not cheap normally, if not quite Rapha pricing.

Being very rugby prop forward shaped i have always struggled for jerseys, two things i keep going back to, i love Specialized RBX merino jerseys, much nicer than polyester next to skin and better shape, or cargo bib shorts (love Morvelo Overland ones) coupled with merino t-shirt from Endura or Alpkit.

https://www.planetx.co.uk/i/q/CLPXEC130ASSJ/ec130-aero-short-sleeve-jersey is a bargain if XXL or XXXL fits.

I have a bit of a beer belly going on since buying mine and ~38" chest, L just about fits me, ordinarily (at least before putting on ~5Kg since March) I'm a M in many jerseys.

Looks like £40+ baskets still automatically give the free delivery option promo from the weekend, from adding 2x2 baselayer bundles plus this jersey.

I find Pearl Izumi stuff to be a bit more generously sized.
I picked up a nice one recently via Freewheel at a good discount.

ha, ha, i was used in one of their photo campaigns yes, got asked after i did some Newcastle to London 500km ride in their jersey. Note though that my modelling career involves a photo of me from the back, no way my face would be used!

Thanks

@JollyGreenGiant - I have some old Pearl Izumi stuff in XL and it's been very good but I'm struggling to find anything that is not a dark colour.

Likewise, I was one of their first brand ambassadors and they used a few pics of me from their 2017 sportive

honestly, just get really stretchy, traditional cut road jersey.

or my usual recommendation, 7mesh! the elevate is not a road jersey - it’s a t-shirt. it is very well cut and very light weight.

I just ordered two of these:

I got a fair few Endura, but I have put on weight over the last year(which I'm pleased to be shifting).

I found a shirt I had printed for Mountain Mayhem to be much more comfortable, and have been using that. I ordered 2 of these in the size of that shirt.

What's the worst that can happen?
