You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
Morning all,
Being now distinctly middle-aged, I don't bounce very well any more, so have recently chosen to wear elbow and knee protection whenever I'm riding trails.
This is fine in winter, as it helps keep my knees extra toasty, but my knee pads are much, much more comfortable over tights than they are straight against the skin, and it's getting a bit hot for my current collection of bib tights!
Is there such a thing as summer bib tights? I'm struggling to find any. So far, I've only been able to find a single pair and they were unpadded, and more importantly, for women.
Changing pads isn't an option, btw. Quite apart from the cost, it took me absolutely ages to find some (Leatt 3DFs) which were actually big enough, so they're definitely staying!
Just look for thin bib tights or maybe go for knee warmers
Knee warmers would seem to make most sense. You can get just Lycra ones. Sugoi certainly did them in the past, sure others do too.
How about 3/4 / bib-knickers? I've a couple of pairs of Endura fs-260. Cover the knees but in same fabric as shorts

3/4 bibs would be a good solution. Try dhb from Wiggle.
+1 for 3/4 bib knickers, I have some Lusso ones which are pretty good.
Yep, Decathlon do a 3/4 Lycra bib with no extra warmth.
Alternative to tights in summer: I got some of this to put under pads

It works.
Endura also (edit Imsee Simon already suggested)
Bioracer do bibtights in standard lycra, both with and without pad.
take a look at wiggle and see if they still do the (no roubaix) 3/4 bibs.
sounds like thats exactly what you need.
I have some skins 3/4 that are just plain lycra with mesh bibs...
pair of running lycra longs with regular bib shorts underneath
as suggested, bib 3/4
