I do sometimes love a good video of some speed demon smashing down hill on Pinkbike at warp speed however I am also kind of tired of that same old bike flying down a hill, corner, jump, dust roost send it etc. I've been writing some of my own articles on my own website recently so would love some more inspiration and just good viewing/reading so I am looking for some more videos with a bit of a story behind them.

I would like to find, and of course watch, more videos (and also read articles/photo stories) which have more of a purpose to them than just going fast down the hill. Something where there is a sense of adventure, going somewhere or accomplishing something, something that even has a bit of commentary that lets you know what they are doing etc. For example lets say if someone were to climb Snowdon one day or ride the WHW orrr a trip through patagonia orrr a ride up some big high peak in the Alps! It can be professional or your own!

I don't know if anyone has seen these but i'll use it as an example of what I like along with starting the list, the films Joey Shussler and the Yeti crew put together are awesome!

(There are plenty more if you search his name on Youtube)

So who has some adventure style stories, articles or videos to share?

Does that video get any better? Because the portentous, cod-philosophical bollox in the first 60 seconds is exactly what has me lunging for the off button...

Not biking, but try this:

One guy with a compact camera and a refreshing lack of hyperbole.

Well montgomery it is made by Americans, you have to expect a bit of that , if you can get past it there are some nice mountains to look at, promise. But the scenery, editing and idea there is a journey takes place in the video was more the point.

Those two looks good, thanks chaps!

Love that Hooks video.

This is a trail Running doc but love the ethos of the event. Also try and find inspired to ride on Netflix or the Bike channel if you haven't already

If you look at the programme for things like the adventure film festival, they have some great bits of adventure film-making. Many of them are available on Vimeo on demand, or through iTunes etc:

Great 'proper' outside adventure films.

Brilliant edenvalleyboy ... I'm guessing this is why not many replied to mine as it was done only a week ago!
