Looking for somewhere for next years club weekend away - ideally within about 3hrs drive of Southampton so we can travel Friday morning, ride Friday afternoon, Saturday and Sunday morning, and travel home Sunday night.
Had some great trips to the Quantocks, exmoor and Brecon Beacons but looking for more ideas to keep us entertained. We are quite fit so for an example we did 25 miles round the Black Mountains of Friday, the Beacons killer loop plus an extra 15 miles each end on Sat, 40 mile loop over the Gap on Sunday.
Somewhere with accommodation near to the start of riding for around 26 people too, preferably with a pub close to hand - we generally use youth hostels or bunk houses.

mendips might be doable in about 3hr from soton.
Whats in the Mendips? Never been there.
Edit - Ah just googled it and I did go once - a very special kind of mud if I recall 😉 - could be handy for visitng some cider brewers though!
Mendips will be something of an anti-climax after some of your other venues.
Dartmoor. Been there a couple of times and loved it. A few kindly folk of this parish have shown us around. I'd describe the very limited bits I've seen as the Quantocks on steroids.
