Something to use as a training goal.....
Sometime around November, something like a 12 hour race or something like that
Polaris challenge. Brilliant fun. 7 hours on Saturday and 5 on Sunday. Fitness, map reading, planning, loads of craic, great riding.

How about the Bear Bones 200 in Oct?

Dusk til Dawn - 12 hour solo? But ride a bike you don't mind throwing away at the end of those 12 hours, because, basically, you will. October mind, but it's later on.
Why November?
November, because I'm cycling round Thailand in December. This training isn't for that, cycling round Thailand will be nowhere near as challenging as cycling across Africa, but I still have about 20kg to loose, and want something to train for.
C al,
A lot of the people I did Africa with are organising a reunion at an ironman so that is on the cards!
Polaris challenge sounds good!
Bit early perhaps but
August - Brighton big dog & Gorrick 12:12
September - maxx south downs challenge
relentless 24 at ft william - great event
Ok so whilst I might do a few of the suggested above, I've signed up for a full ironman! Should be fun 🙁
Well done 🙂 Ironman is brilliant, don't look so glum! Which one are you doing?
