Anyone got any recommendations for the best all-round trail tyre for the Surrey Hills type of riding (sand, roots) with occasional Wales trips, sub-£25? I've been toying with the idea of the Kenda Blue Groove/Nevegal 2.1 Stick-E/DTC combo, but as it's going onto my first FS bike I've no idea what I should really be looking at/for!
Wanting something around a "real world" 2.2 size, so had seen the Conti Mountain King 2.4 as I'd heard they come up small but they seem to get mixed reviews. Also been looking at the Maxxis range but have no idea what tread pattern or compound I should be looking at! Ideally I'd want something not too heavy, with a folding bead if possible.
Any suggestions welcome as I need some before the weekend!
