You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
Evening all.
Sunday 28th march meet at botany bay at 9.30am for 10.00am start.
It will be about 25 miles.
Everyone welcome as usual.
Bring your bikes and bring your cakes 🙂
Blimey Charlie.....Compared to last weeks ride it's practically on my doorstep!!
Unfortunately I'm doing the Whinlatter challenge the weekend before. Leaving the lovely Mrs Gruff with the kids two sundays on the bounce might be seen as extracting the urine.
On the other hand I do have nearly 4 weeks to build up the brownie points...........heads into the kitchen to put the kettle on
Will definitely be on this, seeing as it's 5 minutes away. It's my birthday weekend. 😛
I'll expect a flood of applications that day to ride on my land.
Count me in big boy.
Are you getting the ICR in this time ?
This one's practically in Ireland. Can the next be in the proper Dales plz, I'm thinking specifically Swaledalish.
Room for a fat lad?
san marino to mast climb is a must i think....its only a mile!!!
In the diary.
must remember bike and cake, bike and cake, bike and cake, bike and cake, bike and cake, bike and cake, bike and cake, bike and cake, bike and cake.... ok, got it!
Working again 😕
But will have been down Peaks previous weekend
i'll be there , probably with graham + poss others .re earlier comment i'd rather to the san marino bit as a descent but hey ...m

As above... Far better as a decent surely?? 😐
It is quite a good technical climb, but yeah definitely better coming down.
Would like to turn up as well just have to see what races are on that weekend 😳
Hi
Dont think the Darlo lot will be out for this but will keep it in mind.
Tinribs-Me and Deejay have a Swaledale route in mind for May
Cheers
Steve
That is just down the road from me. Baby is due a few days before so not sure if I'll be getting out though. I have the Cheshire cat marked in my diary for that day, but I'm certain I won't be doing that now! 🙂
well yeh could do it as a decent..there is a nice little track to the right just before the mast, could maybe come up that..will have a chat wi nick!
San marino is in and so is the ice cream run. 😀
pretty safe to say i will be attending................ 8)
IF
I think I can do the ride then nip to the Liverpool airport to pick the wife up at 2pm
IF
the MTL the previous week hasn't killed me or my bike
I'll be there.
Definately up for this as i've ridden Rivi in dark on nightrides, so will be good to do it in daylight. Not done a ride out before with STW, anything i need to do/bring (apart from cakes!)?
Sense of humour 🙂
We could take in Peel and Darwen tower as well.
Another Chorley resident here - will try and make it.
Any chance of real Northern one?
Shall give it a go, seeing as I'm only in Belmont! However, given my major lack of riding, I suspect I may have to bow out before the full 25, but will know my way home easily enough...
San Marino- which is that one? Never heard of it before!
hora, San Marino is also called "Wrights Arms" downhill, long fast with water bars from the back of the mast to a small woods near the A666.
Will try and get to this after having been on a swaledale one last year which deejay led and was superb, been a bit crazy since then with work, moving and bike being pinched.
I'll be along, and i'm sure Luke will join me

Stop confusing the lad Jase...
Most ppl call it the Belmont Descent. and it leads to the A675.
Ah! Its good to know the different names that people use 🙂
San Marino actually sounds better...racier...
Lowey your right, A675, to many Orangebooms tonite. I can get up it in under 10 mins though 8)
San marino is in and so is the ice cream run
and wildeswood? not a proper rivi ride without it (IMHO of course, lowey for example disagrees) 🙂
[edit] kingkong, sub 10 in current condition? it's pretty cut up.
Burp!
I can get up it in under 10 mins though
Pah.... walked the ****in dog up it today in 5 mins. 😛
you 'doggin' up Rivvy again Lowey 😆
Been off the bike for 4 weeks now so fitness/health wise it's looking like I'll have to miss this.
If a miracle happens I'll be there.
Hi guys would anyone mind if a young female joins you? I've been to the area before and think i can manage it.
Hi guys would anyone mind if a young female joins you
Now, let me think what this lot's answer is going to be to that request 🙄
Everyones welcome to these rides
As long as you have a working bike, dont mind the odd long climb, technical rocky decent, and have a sense of humour, you'll be fine.
I've often turned up on my own, and made a lot of good friends.
The pace is social, and we only go as fast as the slowest rider.
The route is coming on nicely. i've been for a wander today and all is looking good, just hope it doesn't rain too much before hand.
@donk: wildeswood will be ridden in an upwards fashion.
@jellybaby: the more the merrier.
I'm excusing myself from flapjack duty cause i've got a 5mile ride to the start and i'm bollox'd if i'm doing it with a tin of flapjack under my arm.
not quite what I was getting at but it's a fun climb too 🙂wildeswood will be ridden in an upwards fashion
Just to let you know from yesterday's experience. San Remo/Belmont descent has some rather interesting knew whopping-gert-big holes in it from all the snow. Which makes it even more interesting. Hurray for erosion!!! 🙂
up wildeswood heresy I tell thee.
See you there will make some flapjacks as well
So i'm a heretic(?) oh well that's life
i'm going to ride the route on saturday so if anyone want's to join me mail me.
nick, gonna have to give this a miss.
family duties have arisen...............sorry mate.
No worries Ton, another time.

family duties have arisen...............sorry mate.
Ya big tart! You missed mine last year too.
I reckon Ton has been deported from Lancashire in the distant past and is never allowed to return... Probably for being in the possession of illicit Yarkshire credentials.
Do you think we got shut of all the baduns over them hills, when we found out that Australia was full Lowey? 8)
😆

3 more days in wales for another 50th
2 days for kielder 100
and a week in scotland in september.
if i don't spoil the good lady now i will be made to suffer later...... 8)
C'mon Ton theres 12 months in a year, so you're spending about a month apart most girls would love that much 'me time' so one more day won't hurt! Bet you're not that nice anyway 😉
What do you reckon izakimak and lowey?
Yorkshire wuss that's the problem 😉
I think he's scared that we might lock him up for being from t'wrong side of t'hills. 😆
Just trawled through 14 pages to find this post again 😥 Now ive wrote this - you dont have to 🙂
I'll get back to my sunday tipple of whiskey now!

Chucky either as they both end up at the same place, i prefer the techy singletrack, i did half and half on saturday.
Ton you could bring the missus and your credit card there's retail therapy at the meeting point.
wrist not to bad, i am king of the powerball now

Now your talkin.
[I've never done Rivvy - I think I'll be there]
Nice one another girl! We'll show this lot how to ride 🙂
Ahem, seriously considering one of my mates suggestions.
Ride over to the meeting place (be an early start), ride with you guys to the Belmont Bull, then spend the rest of the day getting trashed on a Sunday Afternoon Sesh.
See how the ride pans out.
mm Dave now there is a surprise I will be walking the 6 foot from my moored boat to the meet you all may sail up to arrive in style as yet undecided.
I will do cakes and if people bring cups [and milk unless you want soya!] I can do brews for all. May even do a veggi chilli if I can really be bothered and enough interest Can heat up up a meat one if anyone wants to do one.
Nick I reckon it is better to meet over the other side at the Lock and Quay pub - now shut down - parking for 20-30 cars as Botany bay can be @rsey about people parking there.

Brilliant. Thats the swinger.
Looking forward to this, some steep climbs there izakimak, glad to see there'll be some stuff I don't know and will be interesting to see how you link up the stuff I do know. Should dodge the sunday hoards that lowey loves so much too.
