Blimey Charlie.....Compared to last weeks ride it's practically on my doorstep!!

Unfortunately I'm doing the Whinlatter challenge the weekend before. Leaving the lovely Mrs Gruff with the kids two sundays on the bounce might be seen as extracting the urine.

On the other hand I do have nearly 4 weeks to build up the brownie points...........heads into the kitchen to put the kettle on

Are you getting the ICR in this time ?

That is just down the road from me. Baby is due a few days before so not sure if I'll be getting out though. I have the Cheshire cat marked in my diary for that day, but I'm certain I won't be doing that now! 🙂

Shall give it a go, seeing as I'm only in Belmont! However, given my major lack of riding, I suspect I may have to bow out before the full 25, but will know my way home easily enough...

Will try and get to this after having been on a swaledale one last year which deejay led and was superb, been a bit crazy since then with work, moving and bike being pinched.

Stop confusing the lad Jase...

Most ppl call it the Belmont Descent. and it leads to the A675.

San marino is in and so is the ice cream run

and wildeswood? not a proper rivi ride without it (IMHO of course, lowey for example disagrees) 🙂

[edit] kingkong, sub 10 in current condition? it's pretty cut up.

Everyones welcome to these rides

As long as you have a working bike, dont mind the odd long climb, technical rocky decent, and have a sense of humour, you'll be fine.

I've often turned up on my own, and made a lot of good friends.

The pace is social, and we only go as fast as the slowest rider.

The route is coming on nicely. i've been for a wander today and all is looking good, just hope it doesn't rain too much before hand.

@donk: wildeswood will be ridden in an upwards fashion.

@jellybaby: the more the merrier.

I'm excusing myself from flapjack duty cause i've got a 5mile ride to the start and i'm bollox'd if i'm doing it with a tin of flapjack under my arm.

Just to let you know from yesterday's experience. San Remo/Belmont descent has some rather interesting knew whopping-gert-big holes in it from all the snow. Which makes it even more interesting. Hurray for erosion!!! 🙂

Ya big tart! You missed mine last year too.

I reckon Ton has been deported from Lancashire in the distant past and is never allowed to return... Probably for being in the possession of illicit Yarkshire credentials.

Over the nab, down to white coppice, along the goit, up withnell plantation, across wheelton moor, down to the coppice, up anglezarke on the road, down a cheeky trail (i'm calling it the phone line), along parson's bullock lane, over to the barn's, up wilderswood, down san marino, pub stop at the belmont bull (that should keep lowey happy), up hoar stones brow, across belmont road, down the ice cream run, over to lead mines clough, up anglezarke, then either down anglezarke or the phone line again, back over the nab going down the trail's, then tea, cake and home.

Ahem, seriously considering one of my mates suggestions.

Ride over to the meeting place (be an early start), ride with you guys to the Belmont Bull, then spend the rest of the day getting trashed on a Sunday Afternoon Sesh.

See how the ride pans out.

mm Dave now there is a surprise I will be walking the 6 foot from my moored boat to the meet you all may sail up to arrive in style as yet undecided.
I will do cakes and if people bring cups [and milk unless you want soya!] I can do brews for all. May even do a veggi chilli if I can really be bothered and enough interest Can heat up up a meat one if anyone wants to do one.
Nick I reckon it is better to meet over the other side at the Lock and Quay pub - now shut down - parking for 20-30 cars as Botany bay can be @rsey about people parking there.
