Reading the thought of where our sport might be in another 20 years was a bit of a reality check for me. I'll be 85 then if I'm still here 🙁 so will doubt ill be still involved ☹️ I guess all good things come to an end and if I'm honest I've had a blast. The places I've ridden, places I've seen people I've met have all been life affirming.
Kind of reminds me when back in 2009 I was advised to never ride off road again. I calculated that I'd rather have 10 years doing what I loved than wrap myself up in bubble wrap. Trouble is now I've had those 10 years I want another and another 🙄 Pandemic has cheated me out of more overseas trips, was going to Lake Garda last year obviously cancelled, not looking likely this year either and that darn clock is busy counting down 😟
So I guess I'll have to settle? for Quantocks, Exmoor, Dartmoor etc and local rides in between. Oh well I know it could be much worse but this has been a reality check. Certainly ripped my " I'm not listening" ears right off and no mistake.
