What components are championed here? High roller max pro for example. If stw were to make a bike - what bits would be on?

evil sovereign/456 or mmbop frame
slx group
non shadow rear mech (less prone to failure)
stans/hope rims/hubs
charge spoon saddle
thomson post
wide bars
shortish stem
not sure on brakes
crossmark rear/high roller or spesh eskar front - or nevegal blue groove stw combo! Run with stans tubeless kit
Def not a hope seatclamp - anything but lol.
shimano rear qr
rockshox revs

From spending far too much time on here this is what i think would go down well not what i ride.

RR you have missed the point - the car is more important, then shock type and set-up.

Figure out components we need, pick the most nichetastic representative of each we can, and then fasten them all together using absurdly expensive and specialised tools.Ride it as rarely as possible. Buy a Passat.

Wouldn't say the orange 5 is championed on here - there are almost as many that dislike it as there are that like it (love my five though).
LOL at hora!

Cmon play nice. so we have:
Can we do a full sus and a hard tail? Would be cool if stw built them up and rode em back to back to see what they were like? See if we all have "the knowledge"

Frame - soul if HT, and Orange 5 if FS
High roller/cross mark or Rubber queens

what else is unanimously "recommended"?

It'd be bloody awful since a large number of people on here clearly have no idea about what makes a bike ride properly.

It would have the wrong type of tyres whose valves lined up perfectly with their logos.

spokes - that is my point entirely. Things get rammed down your throat as being the best produce EVER and have clearly not been used. So if we compile a list of these components - stw build into bike sand ride em. It will put an end to the drivel that is posted!!

Or are told what to ride by bikeshops pushing only what they stock as 'the best'. Yet we are told by the bikeshop workers and owners that we have to 'support your LBS'. 😆

Aye with self-proclaimed riding gods who delude themselves that they are better.

Theres always a much better rider than a cynic out there...and when someone starts to think someone can't ride its because they are insecure themselves (I've found).

29er (bad) with Reba Maxles (good) built up with 8 foot of stem spacers (bad), a square taper BB (bad), Thomson bits (good), whichever on one/ragley/jones handlebar that is totally unsuitable for offroad is in vogue at the minute (very bad), cable discs (bad), a brooks saddle (bad) and crank bros pedals (bad). All powered by a 7 speed "will do 800,000 miles" groupset from Roman times.

Frame would prolly have to be an Inbred really, or a Swift.
