Having enjoyed the TdF all the more for having a fantasy team in the STW league I thought I'd create a league for the Veulta starting in a few days.

With Froome, Contador!, Quintana, and last year's winner Horner all involved it should make for some good racing.

League Name: STW Fantasy Veulta
League Code: 20201923

Having left Quintana out of my team i'm off to find a gambling cashback deal to put £25 on him for GC

Christ almighty - they're not takin many chances with the odds!

Horner is out so time to change your team if you picked him.

Interesting case of the MPCC rules being tighter than the UCI's.
http://www.cyclingnews.com/news/chris-horner-out-of-vuelta-a-espana-due-to-low-cortisol-levels

More to it than that?......

I sincerely hope nobody had the brass neck to pick him.

He could have picked up good mountain points, and possibly a stage win once he was out of contention for the overall.

On par with other riders rated at 12, no?

He could've got a lot of points but he's way too fishy for my taste.

My team has a strict anti-doping policy based on my own prejudices and a vague knowledge of pro road racing.

I had Horner as likely to have done well I thought.

Bertie's the gamble, maybe he's letting us think he's not as strong as he really is....

Stage 3 kudos goes again to Team Moopi, DS Simon Abbot, with 365 points.

Overall we have team Levello, DS TomL, leading with 685 points.

I'm now regretting picking riders with rainbow thoughts on their minds rather than Red or Green jerseys.....

This is getting seriously stressful for me now.

From a fantasy perspective I'm loving seeing Froomey diesel up on the climbs, but as the tour goes on that cheeky £20 I had on Contador could buy me some nice new bike bits!

What odds did you get for the win?

Feeling slightly less stressed now, scaled? 😀

Cracking stage - a fight, the top 5 battling it out up the final climb, and Bertie powering away for the win. The kind of stage I missed in the Tour!
