I browse a lot on a smart phone. Sometimes I'll click a thread or page and the whole screen high lights and goes off to amazon. Only ever amazon, nowhere else. Anyone know what that's all about?

been having that for a few days and have let Mark know. He was looking into it.

For me it happens with any top banner Amazon ad, on Dolphin Browser (Android). The active area is whole page until the page fully loads, then the active area is just the ad area again.

That is not going to help STW's poor Android user though.

Ive always found Opera to be a bit clunky and doesnt render the forum page very well when you zoom in/out or rotate.

Dolphin is a great app.

I would like a specific ipad app which encompasses the forum and digital version of the magazine rather than just a pdf.

Lots of dev work needed for that though.

email from mark. He says he's beaten the chief hamster with a riding crop and will see if that has any effect....

Still had no reoccurrence, but that may be down to the odds of the ad appearing.

Never ever happened to me - Desire & std browser. Would it be any less likely if one were a Premier member?

Yes, afraid it seems to be back again. How much do you think amazon pay for that facility?

That's a thought. Since o don't have an ad blocker on this phone it must be my premier membership with low-ads setting which stops it happening at the moment and maybe it only ever happened when I was logged out. Afterall I cant see an ad at the top of this thread

Not seen this happen on Safari/iPhone yet. So it may be 'droid specific?

I've not had it either but thought I'd seen other iPhone uses mention it.

Oh and it's apparently not just specific to STW.

I use opera mini on a non-android phone and get the same issue

its stopped happening to me (used the phone on the forum for a few hours yesterday evening) but I reckon that's coz Im a premier user and I was logged in so the banner ads are blocked (i think?)

Any premier uses getting the problem while logged in?

Otherwise it's just the amazon ad at fault.

Serves you right for using Opera, it's rubbish on the iphone imo.
