I'm probably being an idiot here - need some advice. Trying to replace the pads in my Marta SL's, with Nuke Proof pads purchased from Chainreaction. I can't seem to get them to fit into the calipers - it appears that the "elbow" on the pad isn't big enough to clear part of the brakes. The new pads aren't exactly the same shape as the old ones, but appear fairly similar - when I received the package I just assumed this was an OEM vs replacement part difference.

Are there different versions of Marta SL's with different pad requirements? Or am I being an idiot?

Old pads vs new:

The packaging for the new pads:

Brake levers - definitely Marta SL:

They changed the pad shape in 2010 I think . You need the newer one. They call it the 6.1 .louise 2007 . The old ones as those nuke proof ones are 5.1.

Thanks all - that explains it. Ordered what I hope to be the correct pads.

Anyone need a set (for F&R) of the "old style" pads, free of charge? Email is in my profile - send me your address and I'll post the unusable ones out.

Magura changed the Marta pads around 2008 or 9, when they introduced the easy bleed port in the reservoir cover, if I remember correctly. Yours are the earlier type. I have at least 4 Magura original pairs from my old Martas in sealed packaging somewhere in the garage. Also, an Epic Brake Bleeding Solutions bleed kit, unused but open - I read the instructions.
£6/pair and £10 for the bleed kit, posted, if you're interested.
Just to clarify, having now read the further posts, the round ones are the earlier, 5.1 type.
