Out on hols in Utah at the moment and broke a spoke on the portal trail
No problem I thought I brought some spare spokes
Then I tried to pull the broken kistraight pull spoke out and found it was blocked by the other spokes going into the hub
What should have been a 5 minute job ending up me missing a day of riding waiting for a bike shop to fix it
Are all DT hubs like this ? wheel is a DT Swiss ex1700 rear wheel
Couldn't even rent a wheel for the day as no one had any non boost wheels don't you just love changng standards which end up scre#ing you over
you can just de tension/remove nipple from the interfering spoke, wiggle it past.
It's actually pretty easy to fix. Locate the spoke that is stopping you from removing the broken spoke, then loosen that off by a few turns, that will be enough so there is a bit of slack to push that spoke aside, so you can remove the broken spoke.
DT Swiss have some good videos on this for if it happens in future...
