Seems a lifetime ago.

If you're doing that track, also pay a visit to Molinginish which is still not connected by road.

The family used to live at Carragreich and we'd go bog hopping straight over the hill to join on to the Rhenigdale track to get there.

Please treat the track with respect, it's part of our history, save the skidding and heavy braking for mtb trails.

This wee stone is the Molinginish turnoff marker:

Just in case anyone wants to see Molinginis, here's a pic

Worth the diversion IMO especially if you're bikepacking. Don't think anyone lives there permanently now.

The water in the bay is very clear. I swam out 50 metres or so on one occasion, and I could still see clearly to the bottom.

Tbh most folk can't go quick enough on it to muster up a skid.

He only failed once due to weather. He’s one hell of a person and postie.

When you consider the frequency of Atlantic storms and freezing winter weather in Harris, once in 12 years is nothing short of epic!

Argh, more fodder for my drive to get out to the Outer Hebrides. I was lucky to have it as part of my patch years ago when I was a sales rep, (everything north of Dundee!).

Would love to go back with kids and bikes - in fact, this is now on my 2021 list. Must do.

Not sure there's really any need to subtitle the postie.

Locals concerned about path damage I'm told, as well as visitor pressure everywhere else. Change is to be expected I guess.

We took our camper to Harris (and the other Hebridean isles) in the summer. Didnt get chance to ride that trail but just another reason to go back. The place really is stunning.
