They may be the Ford Mondeo of the MTB world, and therefore considered to be a bit dull by the STW herd, but there must be LOADS of them out there. How come we rarely see any foties?

Here's my '05 model to get us going

"They may be the Ford Mondeo of the MTB world"
Is the S-works version(frameset) the Jaguar X-type of the bike world then?

The Revs had gone back for warranty in the last one

My 2005 Stumpy, I think the frame and handlebars are the only original parts left on it. Great bike, even if it does look like a 5 bar gate with wheels.

Esmerelda!

Pretty much unchanged, apart from the wheels which were replaced with old ones after nipple problems with the others!

I'm assuming that is the lift toward Morzine from Les Gets? (It looks similar), so I'm just as guilty

nice bikes. how much hammer can they take? compared to something like an orange 5?

They're mostly 120mm (older ones being less), so on that basis less hammer than a 5, but its a four bar so ought to be a bit more effective (overall) than oranges single pivot? I'm guessing now

Where are all the 08/09 Stumpjumper FSRs? The ones with the vertically mounted shock?

MrCrushrider.....mine has got just under 100mm on the back, whereas the newer ones have 120mm....

Mine has been ridden round heaps of trail centres, round Thetford regularly, spent a week in Spain getting some abuse (had to swap forks to some Bombers as my Judys puked their oil out on the 2nd day) and dropped (literally) off some rocky switchback edges.
It's still going strong.

Mate of mine went to Spain with me on an Orange Sub5. He rode more of the techy bits, but he's better at riding that stuff so even on my bike he'd have probably managed it.
I keep thinking of getting a new bike (well, not while I'm looking for a new job) - but the Stumpjumper keeps going......

I might get something like a Zesty when I get a new job and keep my Stumpjumper as a race/marathon bike.......get some light bits on it and keep riding it.

Can I join in please? My enduro Pro '04 is a close family relative!

Love that bike, not much remains from the original (including the frame, replaced under warranty), just the stem, rear shock and oddly the front wheel!

Brilliant buy. Same as on my Soul - got those from US for £300. Didn't think I'd use talas feature, now I don't want none adjustable forks again. Damned if I know when to use the compression feature though. Your bike's looking great.

Still amazed that we've not seen many new style Stumpys with the vertical shock. Are STW forumites to "cool" for those?

the thing is, they do everything you need a bike to do, done a few races over Beastway and Summitt MTB in the chilterns, admittedly not very fast, my local tracks around Essex and with the addition of DH High Rollers, 200mm discs, spent 5 days in Les Gets, a very good all rounder.
