Has any one changed out the shock on one of these? Currently have the brain but the cost of a service is almost as much as buying a new shock.
Have found this one that fits the camber but should also fit mine and the 51mm stroke should increase travel slightly as well. Monach rt3

Had anyone fitted this shock or can recommend an alternative?
Thanks
Chris
I put one of those in my 2011, and can't tell the difference. Maybe I'm just crap as it's wrong stroke and eye to eye, but I haven't died yet!
I was hoping it would be an upgrade over the brain shock, but if you can't tell the difference, may as well stick with what I know and get it serviced.
Sorry, I meant in terms of head angle and travel. The shock itself is waaaaaay better
Great, not too bothered about it being 3mm shorter, should slacken the head angle out a bit!
i really must make the adaptor for normal shocks for my brothers stumpy. his has a triad thingy which isnt very good - he wants to try an rp23, or even a CCDB
How much have you been quoted for a service then?
Just had the Brain shock on my FSR serviced by J-Tech suspension for just over £100. Can't remember how much exactly.
It feels great again and their service/turnaround was really good.
They offer a collection service which I used as I didn't want to risk using a courier that might just sling it in the hazardous goods bin.
Thanks stumpy, I thought only mojo did it, which is 150ish + postage. As the monarch is only 200, thought I might try that instead as I don't really use the brain tbh. Will check them out though.
Thanks
Chris
Spesh themselves with a revalve was a £130 about 18 months ago.
J Tech have only been doing them for the last month or so.
I rang them to enquire and they'd just started doing them that week. They hadn't had access to the spares prior to that.
