So I have had a Stumpjumper 6 fattie for over a year now running it with 2.6 (Butcher/Purgatory) and it's been great for both trail riding and the odd Enduro race. Now ever since I got it I have always wondered what it would be like as a 29er. Now the only issue I have at the mo is bottom bracket height which I can't see going up by a massive amount but would help.

I guess my question is this. Is it going to worth investing £300+ plus to scratch an itch or is this going "bring the bike alive"?

I changed my 6 fattie levo to 29 wheels 18 months ago. Sold the plus wheels, much prefer it.

Can't you borrow a set of 29er wheels for a weekend ? I've certainly got several sets i don't need often if you're local to Berks.

Sadly not sure I know anyone who has a boost 29er wheelset @weeksy but good idea. What makes this worse is that I have been playing with the idea of building up a 27.5+/29 hardtail so I would have 4 bikes for the price of 2. Whats wrong with that right?

I have the same bike, with a set of 29er boost wheels. The BB height is a lot better, no pedal strikes when running the 29er with a Nic and a Ron. The 3" fatties really annoy me!

I am selling them though... DT 1501...Used once round Thetford. I'll place an ad up or you can get in touch.

I’m running my stumpjumper fattie on 27.5 with butcher grid 2.3 yes you do get pedal strike but I get pedal strikes on my other bike and that is a Stanton switch back with 170mm cranks. I think it depends on what you ride on and how you ride.
