My mate has one and likes it very much. So much so that he always suggests we ride the proper bikes rather than the ebikes now.

As far as I'm aware he's not had any issues with the bike as such, he did have a bit of trouble with the Maverns in Madeira which hasn't reoccurred since doing a proper bleed when he got home, but equally he's not using them in quite the same way around here.

id be really interested in one as my next frame - but im not sold on that genie shock - a few folk i know have had a ridiculously hard time setting it up to not feel wallowy, or if they sort that it then feels harsh, i bet with a x2 or coil on it would probably feel great though like the stumpy evo did....id love test ride it myself but it definitely got me a bit worried as im not a faffer with suspension so trying to figure that (and i mean one lad took months and months) - hes finally fairly happy with it now shock wise, the other downside is no cable access for mechanical, and his x0 transmission is noisy as hell, whether its the mech itself or something else with the back end hes not sure but its a noisy mess descending

Thanks for the reply.

The shock is one of the reasons I want to try the bike.

A trusted mate has one on his new Levo and loves it.

I had thought about the Ohlins edition but then I'll not get the chance to experiment with the genie shock.

If I go for one with the genie and really don't like it I'll just bang an EXT on it anyway.

I've seen a few reports of it being noisy due to chain slap also so this is a slight concern as I hate noisey bikes.

I can't find anywhere that has an S5 test bike so may have to try and S4 just to check out if this is going to be a problem for me.

Don’t they do an Ohlins spec with a coil shock?

Appears the seat tube has gotten slacker on the 15. Not by much, but it's cropping up in reviews, and currently owning the last gen Evo it could do with being steeper not slacker. BB definitely didn't need to be lower either.

Nice bike but I'm not seeing much of a reason to upgrade mine other than Maven brakes rather than Codes, which seem a bit underpowered to me.

So just been out for a few hours on a Stumpy15 Expert.

Only really basic setup before the ride so hard to form a full opinion of it, but it has answered my question on the noisy bike front.

Apart from a bit of a creak from the headset, which I kind of expect on a hire bike that's been jetwashed to within an inch of it's life it was pretty quiet.

Definitely need to play around with the bands in the outer air can.

Remarkable how soft it feels in the initial part of the stroke but still doesn't bottom out.

I'm sure I could get it set up to my liking pretty quickly.

Just wish a could get my hands on an S5 to try too.

S4 felt pretty good in most stuff but a little short in a couple of situations.

Nothing I couldn't adapt to but maybe an S5 would be better. I have an S5 Levo and apart from bb height the geo is very, very similar.

This is going to need some thought...

Obviously you know what you want and I don't 🤣 but....

Will you ride a bike so similar to one that you already have sans motor?

When I got my Kenevo I ridded my Capra as if I was going to ride an Enduro bike, it was going to be the one with a motor.

Always had a hardtail in the shed of some description to give me something totally different to the ebike.

Have six bikes including two ebikes and every time I think about getting another bike I'm always drawn away from anything I have in e-form. Had thought about a Stumpy myself - older Evo, but just know it wouldn't get used as I now have a Levo. If I got say a Stanton Switch9'er ti - FS or HT, I'd choose to take that out though

Just my onions though, crack on, they are supposed to be very good bikes 👍

I'll always choose a bike without a motor unless everyone else is on an eeber or I'm totally ****ed on account of i'm not a lazy ****er. 😉

It'll be a replacement for my Geometron G13 which is my most ridden bike.

Funnily enough the geo of the S5 and G13 is almost identical bar the stack height being a fair bit higher on the Stumpy which is my main concern.

With different bars and stem can you get the grips in the same place, or is the reach effectively longer because of the taller stack?

The mrs loves hers, upped the front end to 160mm, climbs well and descends even better

The head tube is longer for starters, but I'm confident I can arrive at a good position with some minor changes.

I've started by running a higher bar position on the G13  so the change feels smaller when I switch.

It's landed at the shop.

Just waiting on some new components to arrive before getting boxed back up and shipped out. IMG-20250603-WA0000.jpg

Race co by any chance?

I recently bought a bike from them, I think I saw a recommendation from you on here some time  back. Couldn’t be happier with the service!

Yeah they do offer a very good service.

Have known Rich and Paul since they were kids.

Rich has been above and beyond what I'd expect from any other shop a few times for me.

They might be 250 miles away from me but they are very much my preferred LBS.
