I've got an 09 SX Trail frame that I want to strip of it's existing copper coloured laquer, it's not a job that I want to do myself with Nitromors etc. I have found a place in Birmingham that can do a chemical strip for £20 but they are unable to polish and clear coat.
Would I need to remove the main frame bearings before it's chemically stripped as I don't intend on keeping them anyway?
Can anyone recommend somewhere in B'ham or surrounding area that could polish and clear coat the frame after it's been stripped? also, if I want decals applied under the clear coat does anyone know of a company that produces them? [not vinyl self adhesive ones]
Lots of questions I know but i really want to get it right.

Bearings would have to come out before stripping IMO. Depending on what chemicals they use, it could eat right through the seals and/or the grease. Or if some sort of water based stripping compound, rust the bearings.

I can't help on any of tyour other questions, though.

£20 to strip is a good price , do the rest yourself no need for clearcoat IMHO

www.slikgraphics.com do some really good quality stickers. Not sure if they can be lacquered over but might be worth asking the question. They can do custom sets too
