thread for a screw in cable guide has stripped. Is there an insert you can get (similar to those used for bottle cages, but smaller) to fix it?

can you not just epoxy or put resin in the hold and drill and re tap the hole for mounting the cable clamp to?
Bottle cage bosses are often rivnuts however i don;t know if they come in a suitable size or are even right for the application you want to use them in.
