[Closed] Stripped the thread in my XT cranks

New cranks, new pedals. After a few days of riding the thread in the non drive side of the crank has stripped. Is this a common problem with the M8000 cranks? Anyone else had this problem? I'm adamant the pedals were greased and not crossthreaded.

Cheers

Ed

User error - almost certainly. It's really not something that happens otherwise.

Hmmm, I've never done this on a pair of Shimano hollowtech cranks, so my guess is that they came loose 🙁

On the other side, I did manage to round off one of the crappy alloy crank pinch bolts last week, while torquing it up and trying to have a conversation with my son at the same time. Fortunately (and with great care!) the rounded bolt came out again (phew!) and they have now been replaced by decent steel ones from Screwfix instead 🙂

I had this happen. I got a local garage mechanic to rethread them for me
