i want to get a polished look to match the soon to be polished dw fluw. anyone stripped back bars to a polished look and if so, how did it go / look?
Are they smooth or do they have a bead/shot blast finish? If the latter, you'll have a to do a lot of work to get them to a good finish.
and they are bead blasted for a structural reason not just aesthetics.
not bought them yet so cheers, good bit of advice 🙂
+1 andyl
not bought them yet
😯 Just like the shape of them, right? As andyl indicates, shot-peening is a structural strengthening process. It prevents small cracks from propagating. Buy shiny, don't bodge shiny, despite what you might have seen on forums,
Check On-One's range. Good prices and wide range of styles. You'll find what you want there.
You could take a look at the new Thomson titanium or the Kingdom titanium bars if you want silver. Won't match polished aluminium but a bit of contrast is always good. Failing that some of the makers of fancier looking stuff do silver bars (nukeproof and brands like Spank etc).
Those Thomson Ti bars are lovely in the flesh. Bit spendy though 🙁
just wait for Merlin to get them on offer 😀
edit: actually try Easton Haven or Havoc as they do a polished silver.
ahh no Havocs seem to be bead blasted and grey now. Look very nice though.
