Is there a way to remove all that Zwift nonsense out of your activity feed as a free Strava user?
I'm only interested in actual rides people have done, but there are loads of virtual rides clogging the feed now. I'm sure Zwift & the like are a lot of fun, but it's not real riding, eh?

Nope.

I reckon seeing people have been beasting themselves on a static trainer is better than seeing everyone's commute though

I never bother logging my commutes. A couple of those I follow do though.

If you follow someone you get all their activities not marked as private.

Looks like this is the plugin https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/strava-enhancement-suite/egelalffpmicecakegglddmhlbdiemlg?hl=en-GB

"Hide turbo trainer / virtual rides: Hide Zwift activities or rides in the feed that do not contain a map."

I should commute on Zwift the days I work from home - best of both worlds

Glad I not the only one who thinks its just clutter.
Only reason I want to look at other peoples rides, is to see new routes.
Right up there with people putting pictures of their lunch on FB!

My Edge 1000 syncs automatically with Strava via the wifi in the garage, so I have to actually go and delete an activity from Strava, rather than thinking everyone wants to see every single ride I do!

Thing with Strava is that it's a social sharing thing... but it's also trying to be a serious training tool (with it's fitness/freshness thing). If you're using it for the latter then you'd want to put everything on there to get the right values out. And it's often easier to just tick the "upload to strava" box on your Garmin/TrainerRoad/Zwift etc. than upload it manually and make it private.

It would be good to give the option to filter out all rides that aren't outdoors. Or allow someone to make all uploads of a certain type private.

As with njee, I have to make far more effort NOT to include my turbo sessions than include them so they're getting uploaded.

I don't include turbo sessions (but then I can't remember the last time I did one) but I do include commutes as it's about 1500ft of climbing each way and it all counts towards my target of 500000ft.

That's the curious thing about Strava. It's a social thing yet when your uploading rides it's usually about your targets and challenges and PB's and often you don't think about the fact that you're sharing it until you get some comments or a kudos.

Always thought it'd be interesting to have smaller groups and have challenges or targets for the group. Or maybe be able to set challenges for your mates to take on. Maybe you already can, I've just not seen it done.

This time of the year commuting 4 days a week is more than enough time outside. If I overdo it Bronchitis visits without fail. I Missed the early part of December with a bout.

Not as bad as seeing my team mates cx warm up laps. Good grief!
One of them rode the national champs at Shrewsbury and swapped his gps every time he changed bikes. :0.

I dump all my riding whether "real" riding, commuting or virtual riding onto Strava and, frankly, I don't give a shit whether any of my followers gets upset! I'm using it as a training tool not to socialise (but I'm a grumpy old curmudgeon) 😆

You can filter all the challenges by Who I'm Following and Groups I'm in
