I've had a privacy bubble over my start location for years...its quite big and off-center so it covers most of my town but not too much of the off-road riding.
I've now seem to have taken up running and there are some nice traffic free routes around town but pretty much completely within the hidden area. I know it doesn't really matter but I'd like them to be visible to followers.
It seems that I can only delete the privacy zone and not make it smaller, and Strava states;
By deleting this address, all past activities that started and ended here will be fully visible in accordance with your privacy controls. Are you sure you want to delete this address?
So if I delete it, will all my activities have the start and end hidden by 200 metres as per the update about this time last year, and will this also apply to my previous activities or will they all suddenly show where I live?
Or perhaps I can create a new (smaller) privacy zone over my house and then when I delete the huge one, all my activities will conform to the new zone as its already set?!
Thanks for any tips.
Agreed but will that rule apply retrospectively to all activities when I delete the privacy zone, or just those since the 200m hidden start/end got introduced in about April 2023?
Doesn't answer your question but I love how Strava hides the start and end of my Zwift rides in case anyone finds out my address in Watopia.
Create a new privacy zone that is smaller then remove the large one...no? Oops, I see you've suggested that...I really need to read this stuff with my glasses on!

Alternative that may or may not work for you…
Only make activities available to followers, and only have followers who are RL friends who already know where you live.
The privacy circle was fairly pointless anyway, as with enough activities someone could plot the circle and find its center.

Which is why you'd make the centre of the circle somewhere other than your home address.
…its quite big and off-center
And it's spelt centre...
