Which is most likely to be more accurate? Riding shoulder to shoulder from the same start stop points with someone on Strava is yielding faster times than my computer. If I was to say average about 17.8MPH, Strava would average something nudging 20MPH.
I don't have Strava, but I have used Endomondo which seems to back up my computer.
Edit. Why would two riders on the same ride on Strava get averages differing somewhere near 3MPH?
Strava gives you a moving average, was the ride at all stop-start?
If the average speed is higher in Strava and yet you start and stop together, then that suggests one of you is recording the distance incorrectly.
Only stuff like stops at lights, junctions etc, maybe a stop to remove a layer.
auto pause messing things up a bit?
On a 30mile ride after work last week with no notable stops other than to check my light was working there's 1mph difference between the average and moving average for the ride. On a longer ride with more lights/junctions it could easily be more.
I can't believe I don't know if my old computer is taking an average or moving average.
I use strava with a GPS and a wheel speed sensor. Unless it's very wooded or steep valleys they are almost identical.

The accuracy of setting up the cycle computer will also have an effect... Absolutely sure you accurately measure the circumference last tyre swap?

Pump your tyres up hard. That'll make a difference to the bike computer :O)
i found my computer (with autostop def on) got very close to sports-tracker when i changed from the generic circumference given in the set up manual to the measured circumference using a chalk and a tape measure
Like Tracker1972 said - your bike computer is only as accurate as the wheel circumference you use when setting it up. Try riding side by side at the same speed and see how your speeds compare. The GPS will be fairly accurate.
