You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
Hi - Please does anyone have a strava log of the big country route at Glentrool, just interested in the elevation and profile ?
I created a GPS route on www.mtbtrails.info that has all the data, although in the end I didn't actually ride it.
Ok - thanks - that probably gives me the information I need.
Word of advice. As you come into Mingaff, the signage at this junction was poor when I did it a couple of years ago:
MINGAFF JUNCTION
I mistakenly went right at that junction but you're supposed to go left. I think there is a tiny sign somewhere but I followed the NCN sign which meant getting lost and going round in circles for a bit 🙄
If you still need it, I rode the route in May.

that's not the exact big country loop. Much bigger version
this is mine which is the loop plus an erroneous loop round newton stewart
Thanks to the above - the longer version is definitely not on - we will be travelling from Dumfries on the day and in the middle of November so we would run out of daylight.
Thanks BB - there will be 3 of us doing it, two of us will be fine but one isn't as fit so we need to consider him !

the big climb is pretty far in and there are no bail outs. it's all fireroad climbs and never that steep but it's a big day out. brilliant remote feeling once you get past Black Loch
As someone 'not that fit' I loved it.
Cracking route, steady climbs rather than heartbreakers, nothing techie for newbies, beautiful.
The blue at the trail centre is perfect for a warm up, it's fast and fun and very addictive.
