Hi guys n gals,
Right, I'm confused. I'm an occasional Strava user, usually forget to turn it on before a decent ride 🙄 However, I recorded a super sick sesh on Exmoor yesterday and got me several PRs that I'm quite chuffed with, tbf conditions were primo 👌 Anyway, after saving the ride, I realised I've recorded a couple of cheeky shuttle runs in the van and it's been flagged up as I'm obviously KOM on those sections! While I'm flagged none of my PRs show on the leader boards. I'm trying to work out how to delete those sections from the ride without losing the whole recording? I see I can crop, but only from beginning or end it seems? Any ideas??

Cheers

You can't. You would have to save the GPX file and then chop it into individual rides, each of which didn't include the can shuttle, then re-upload.

You can split it, but first export and save then you have the full GPX in case anything goes wrong

Split at end of first run / start o of first shuttle - gives you run #1
split at end of first shuttle, then delete the shuttle run
split at end of run 2 / start of shuttle 2 - gives you run #2
split at end of end shuttle 2, then delete the shuttle run

repeat

Yeah, what nbt said works fine, I've done it before too.

The options you need are "Split" and "Crop". So Split to separate the runs, and Crop to remove the uplifts, split again, crop again, etc.

I've no idea if that will "un-flag" the resulting rides though.

Use the split into three sessions as many times as you need to then delete each "session" in a vehicle.

Used this loads since around Xmas to make personal records of my days at work, but I sometimes forget to stop a session when I drive from one zone to another.

As above, download the gpx, reupload to strava multiple times then crop them into your individual segments.

THEN...

Download all of those gpx files and upload them using https://gotoes.org/strava/Combine_GPX_TCX_FIT_Files.php and combine them back into a single ride - this will give you daft straight lines between the individual rides, hopefully none of which will be on segments!

Thanks for the help guys. So, I took your advice and split my ride into several sections and cropped out all the uplifts successfully. However, now I don't have any achievements showing on any of it?? I've tried pressing refresh my results or whatever it is, but to no avail. Do I need to re upload it or something? I can't understand why Strava doesn't just let you click on the dodgy stages and have a delete option, would be much simpler.

Same thing has happened to me. In France missed the lunch stop and rode on 10 miles but support vehicle picked me up and dropped me at same place afterwards, but my Wahoo remained on.
Now flagged now I will have to mess about editing, one wet afternoon. Arse.
I asked Strava same question and they were if little help.

I think if you edit the ride to make it so only you can see it you keep your Pr's and are removed from the leaderboard.

You don’t need to do any of this, just log into Strava and crop the ride using the edit functions on the left hand side.

You need to do this on the website, not the Ap.
