Is anyone else having problems with Strava since the GPS date reset /rollover?
I can record a ride, upload it fine but it doesn't show in my feed and according to Strava help the GPS software on my Samsung needs updating but I have no idea how to do this
I uploaded a ride on Monday with no issues. Have you tried reinstalling Strava itself?
People I follow seem to be managing too.
I'll have a Google to see if theres a way of recalibrating my phones GPS
Edit. I've uninstalled & installed again, logged out & back in too
Did a ride today and it uploaded OK and shows in my feed. Using a Garmin 520.
Not any problems uploading but sat morning was 35 mile in and my 520 would record speed and alt gain but not mileage, saved the ride (took about 10min to save) then restarted and no issues after that for the other 65 mile ,may have just been the Garmin playing up or it may have been down to the reset ,all my commutes from Sunday on have been ok
The problem is with GPS data handling so is quite a long way removed from the Strava app, so reinstalling that is highly unlikely to change anything.
Any update would have to be for the phone's GPS driver or something along those lines, so unless your phone has updates from the manufacturer there's probably nothing you as an end user can actually do about it.
The satnav in our 67 reg car needed an update, so I was pleasantly surprised that my trusty Garmin Edge 605 hasn't missed a beat...
Weirdly, I just experienced this tonight. My commute home recorded ok but a mountain bike ride later in the evening had corrupted data.
The corrupted ride loaded to Garmin Connect ok but wouldn't sync.
I exported the file from Garmin and could see dodgy dates when I opened the file in Notepad. A simply find and replace of the dates then uploaded it to Strava and all is ok
Garmin 500's have a confirmed problem with clocks going forward / back. First ride after clock change gets corrupted. After a clock change I power on the unit, make a short recording, power off then back on, unit says 'working' for about 10-15 minutes and ride is lost but unit is working again. I've confirmed this on 3 separate Garmin 500's though my wifes 520 seems ok.
Happened to me and my 520 yesterday morning. Speed and distance were not recording. Fortunately I saw it early. Stopped and discarded the ride, then started again and everything was fine.

The latest reply from Strava is similar to this.
I'm due a phone update soon, ill get in touch with my provider and bring it forward.
Hi, the problem is due to worldwide GPS change and not every phone software has been updated by this change. But all of your recorded activities should be in Strava, despite the fact, you don't see them.
I have found temporary solution, which worked for me. The solution is to manually restore "lost" activities. There are not lost, there are there. Not updated GPS system saves all new activities as activities recorded in 1999.
1/ Go to your own activities in Strava (use computer) and browse to old dates, until you find your "lost" activities, saved as activities from 1999. After you have found your "lost" activities, you need manually export each of them to your computer, then manually change the date, then manually import each activity with a new date. Let's go.
2/ Click on the activity you want to export from your dashboard, to see the activity. Then on the left side is menu (Overview, Analysis, Summit, Edit, Actions [Actions icon represents three dots ...]). Click: Actions > Export GPX. Strava will automatically make the export. Go to exported file location in your computer and open it with any text editor (GPX is text file), for example WordPad. Now find the year, which will be in syntax like: 1999-09-04. Now you need to replace all dates with a new date 2019-05-01. Use the function to replace, don't do it manually. After you have replaced all dates, just import this activity GPX file back to Strava, using icon + in upper right corner, than Uplad activity and you are done.
3/ After you have successfully uploaded all "lost" activities with correct date, you can delete the activities with wrong year.
Maybe not solution for everybody, but for me it worked.
Please, let me know whether solution helped.
@ciciak
Only just seen your reply, i'll give it a try when I have more time after work.
